Using lamps with copper ballast will have longer life than an electronic ballast.
@ superbsite- change the ballast to a branded one.

| Mark the pins in the lamp's holder as 1,2,3 and 4. In the choke as A and B. Now connect A and 1,connect 2 and 3 with starter in between. Connect phase to B and neutral to 4. Very simple. |

Ballast's are completely different for T12 and T5 lamps. Dont ever try this.

He was asking for T5HO lamps. And you referring him with regard to T12 lamps.
Moreover one can power 2 no's 20W T12 lamps or 2no's of 18W T8 lamp with a normal 40 W choke. |

Check this Video. In their natural habitat in river kumaradhara. We spotted these only in pairs. The place was full of boulders and algae.
