 Hi  Apurva,

I  also  keep  Discus  but  have  only  had  them  for  a  couple  of  months  now.  I've  got  4  Blue  Turqoise,  4  Red  Pigeons  and  2  Yellow  Pigeons.  In  other  tanks  I  have  Velvet  and  Red  Oscars,  Monos,  Rummy  Nose  Tetras,  Silver  Dollars,  and  a  lot  of  other  community  fish.

I'm  at  Nepean  Sea  Road  and  also  have  some  tanks  at  my  office  in  Fort.  Get  in  touch  if  you  would  like  to  exchange  notes.  (email  -  samar  [at]  myrealbox  [dot]  com)

 Hello  Samar,

I  wanted  to  ask  you  about  the  marlboro  young  ones,  are  they  your  own  brood?  The  next  thing  is  about  body  guard  filters.  Is  that  a  power  filter????
I  ask  you  this  because  as  far  as  I  saw,  young  discs  dont  tolerate  turbulance  in  water  and  dont  display  well.  So  please  be  a  little  more  elaborate  on  this  and  explain.

 Venket

Venket,  Bodyguard  filters  are  powerheads  with  a  sponge  prefilter  afaik.
As  far  as  pwr  filters  and  discus  go,  in  my  experience,  discus  do  not  mind  mild  currents  as  long  as  there  are  quite  areas  (like  bogwood  tangles)  where  they  can  hang  out.....comments  anyone?

Bodyguards  are  not  known  to  be  very  mild  and  discus  absolutely  hate  water  movement.

firlstly  the  marlboro  kids  i  am  getting  are  not  from  my  fishes,  i  am  purchasing  them.  Secondly  Boduguard  filter  is  a  powerhead  sponge  filter.  I  have  used  a  extra  pipe  and  modified  it  so  that  there  is  practically  0  current  flow  in  the  tank.
 Anything  more?
