 Hi  Sandy,

 You  can  use  if  it  is  not  showing  brown  coloration  or  deliquescence.

 @Chinkz:  Hypo  is  the  common  name  for  sodiumthiosulphate.

 Regards

 Can  you  guys  also  mention  the  quantity  to  be  used,  or  a  formula  to  use  while  adding  it  to  water.  I  have  some  hypo  but  do  not  know  the  right  quantity  to  use.  the  info  would  be  really  helpful.

 When  I  was  back  working  in  an  aquaculture  hatchery...I  usually  put  in  10  hypo  crystal  per  1  tone  tank....so  it's  only  1  crystal  per  100  liters  Very Happy

 Most  of  the  time  we  get  the  crystals  in  uneven  size  and  needs  to  be  put  as  per  your  judgment.
 Usually  I  do,  single  big  crystal  or  2  small  crystals  in  200  Liters  and  aerated  for  minimum  2  hours  before  transfer  to  main  tank.
 For  last  1  year  I  am  doing  this  for  my  bare  bottom  discus  tank,  without  problem.

 Regards,

 Kiran

 Meaning  that  hypo  is  still  hypo  chemically  and  has  not  degraded.  Thumb Up
 deliquescence  =  becoming  watery/liquid
