I  am  in  need  of  some  driftwood  for  setting  up  my  tank.
Looking  for  the  more  "rooty"  types.
A  few  pointers  will  help  me  in  planning  my  trip.
   Smile

If  you  are  from  Tirunelveli  or  near  by  area,  you  can  get  them  in  Thamirabarani.
I  collected  a  few  from  Tamirabarani  !!!  and  it  looks  good.
If  you  dont  mind  travelling,  the  other  option  could  be   -  Papanasam   you  can  find  tons  of  drift  wood  !!!

Go  to  the  temple  in  papanasam,  the  water  running  there  has  lot  of  submerged  shoots.  Do  remember  to  take  a  hacksaw  !!!

I  have  collected  some  wood  ther.  But  let  me  warn  you  that  the  quality  of  wood  may  not  be  great  !!!!

Quite  close  to  you  actually.  It  is  an  hour's  drive  (west  ward)  from  Tirunelveli.  I  have  also  heard  of  a  jungle  trail  which  links  Trivandrum  and  Papanasm  (21  kms).  With  the  recent  developments  in  the  whole  Tiger  Reserve  'thing',  I  hear  even  locals  who  usually  bathe  there  are  turned  back  by  the  wildlife  guards.  Also,  I  go  there  there  twice  or  thrice  a  year  and  I  really  haven't  noticed  any  driftwood,  although,  I  have  to  admit  that  my  primary  interests  lay  with  the  fish  in  the  river  and  not  the  inanimate  objects.
