 Hi  Yunus,

What  have  you  done  to  him  to  cause  him  to  lose  'half  its  weight'?

Before  it  got  thin,  was  he  eating  well.

 Is  he  eating  now?

How  long  have  you  kept  that  discus....you  raise  it  or  recent  purchase?

How  many  other  discus  or  fishes  do  you  have  in  the  same  tank?

How  many  water  change  do  you  do  per  week?

Is  your  tank  a  clinical  tank  or  planted  tank  or  a  system  tank?

 Regards,
 Andrew  Halo

 Hi  Guys,

If  I  get  bombarded  with  questions  I  cannot  answer,  I  am  only  human.  Only  God  has  answer  to  every  question.

So,  shoot....I  am  not  worried  Thumbs Up

Yunus,  on  a  serious  note...you  may  not  have  selected  a  healthy  discus  to  add  to  your  stock.

When  selecting  discus,  health  is  the  utmost  important......

 Sorry  for  your  loss.

Since  a  discus  has  died  in  that  tank,  do  a  prophylactic  treatment  to  all  the  discus  with  Potassium  Permanganate  bath  24  hours  x  3  times  in  a  week  @  a  dose  of  2mg  per  litre  of  water  under  a  water  ph  of  7  and  below.

 Take  care,

 Andrew  Halo

 Hi  Andrew,

I  have  5  nos.  Blue  Turqs  of  4  -  5  inch  size  in  a  220  Gallon  tank  mostly  barebottom  except  for  a  few  large  rocks  and  a  few  strands  of  anubias  plants.  I  have  had  this  set  up  for  last  7  months.  I  feed  them  only  beef  heart.  90%  WC  once  a  week.  The  were  all  perfectly  healthy  and  feeding  well.  Recently  I  was  out  of  town  for  a  couple  of  days  and  the  discus  went  without  food  during  that  time.
Now  when  I  feed  them,  they  seem  disinterested  in  the  food  and  barely  peck  at  them.  Its  now  4  -5  days  since  they  have  eaten  properly.  They  don't  show  any  signs  of  weakness  yet.  What  should  I  do  to  get  them  to  eat  normally  as  they  used  to?

 Raja.

 Yes,

Make  more  frequent  WC  and  of  higher  volume.  ....and  up  temperature  to  30.

Your  absence  is  not  the  fault  or  the  cause.

If  you  prefer,  you  can  also  add  in  B  complex....about  120mg  per  100  litre  water  or  one  small  tablet  when  you  buy  from  Pharmacy.  It  helps  to  increase  appetite.

 Take  care,

 Andrew
