 Janardhanam  Sir,
Its  difficult  to  differentiate  between  marselia  plants,  as  their  growth  is  as  varied  as  the  tank  conditions,  if  you  need  the  specific  ID  then  you  need  to  grow  them  emersed..  emergent  plants  will  show  up  those  supple  variations  which  can  be  identified  easily.

Janardhanam  ,  we  miss  you  too...
And  yes  they  are  foreground  plants,  but  they  will  test  your  patience  as  they  are  very  slow  growers.

I  asked  the  same  question  about  speciation  a  couple  of  years  ago  and  didn't  get  a  definite  answer.  Hamza  said  that  most  of  the  Marselia  in  trade  is  hirsuta.

I  have  the  same  plant  that  you  have,  had  it  for  about  three  years  now.  I  takes  about  4-6  weeks  to  settle  down  initially.  Very  hardy  and  tolerant  of  abuse  once  its  established.  I  have  gown  it  in  all  kind  of  combinations.  MH/PLL  then  CO2/Non  CO2/Excel.  Handles  all  this  very  well.

Though  its  described  as  a  low  light  plant  the  fastest  growth  that  I  got  was  in  4WPG  with  CO2  bubbling  away  in  the  background.

Very  difficult  to  trim  and  replant  since  the  runners  have  to  be  pulled  out  and  cut.  Dirt  accumulates  very  thickly  under  the  mat  of  plants.  If  you  don't  mind  these  two  minor  issues  its  very  low  maintenance,  I  usually  trim  and  replant  once  every  6  months.  Last  replant  was  done  only  after  13  months.
