 Hi  all
I  got  a  regulator  for  a  CO2  cylinder  whose  cylinder  connection  (underside)  is  shown  in  the  pic.
Unfortunately,  this  does  not  work  with  the  regular  Soda  maker  cylinders.  The  sodamaker  cylinders  have  a  pin  based  system  while  this  does  not.
Is  there  a  separate  cylinder  available  for  this  ?
Where  should  I  look  and  what  should  I  ask  ?

 Thanks  for  any  help
 Best
 Soumi

You  have  to  personally  visit  a  cylinder  supplier/refill  guy.  They  can  either  give  you  a  cylinder  which  will  work  with  your  connector  or  get  you  an  adaptor  for  this  connector  to  work.
If  you  don't  know  a  cylinder  supplier  talk  to  the  eastern  regional  office  of  Praxair  or  BOC.  They  will  give  you  the  address  of  a  local  franchisee  in  your  area.  This  is  only  if  you  want  to  buy  a  CO2  cylinder.
Jamshedpur  I  am  sure  has  lots  of  them.  You  just  have  to  know  who  they  are.  I  can  help  you  in  Kolkata

You  need  an  adapter  to  fit  this  regulator  on  to  a  sodamaker  cylinder.
Rufus  had  some  adpaters  a  while  ago.  He's  now  in  Dubai  and  will  be  back  ob  6th  May  2007.

It's  better  to  get  the  adapter  and  regulator  from  the  same  person  and  the  thread  size/male/female  adpater  are  painful  variables.

 Hi  Sudipto,  Madan  and  all
I  just  got  back  from  a  BOC  dealer  who  had  a  cylinder  holding  3kg  gas  and  was  charging  5500  for  the  cylinder.  Is  this  a  decent  price  ?
What  kind  of  price  range  should  this  be  in  ?
I  am  open  to  buying  from  Kolkata  or  Bangalore  etc  too  if  it  is  less  expensive  there.

 Let  me  know

 Best
 Soumitra

CO2  cylinders  cost  me  Rs.  3000  for  a  22  kg  one  many  years  ago.  5500  is  steep  IMO.

 Hi  Soumi,
I  had  the  same  problem  when  i  was  making  my  own  CO2,  but  what  i  have  done  in  the  center  i  have  used  a  bi-cycle  air  in,  and  glued  it  with  aeraldit.  What  the  pin  does  its  presses  the  nozzle  to  releas  the  gas;  also  there  is  a  small  hole  in  the  air  pin  which  helps  CO2  pass  thru  the  pin  on  to  the  other  guage  and  regulator!!!  I  will  try  and  get  u  the  pic  if  possible.
I  hope  this  will  help  you!!!

 Hi  Fakhruddin
Well  ..  i  would  definitely  like  to  try  your  idea  but  i  would  also  like  to  add  that  the  locking  nut  of  the  regulator  does  not  fit  the  soda  maker  cylinder.  Its  the  same  size  no  doubt  but  the  cylinder  thread  starts  from  much  further  below  the  top  edge  for  the  locking  nut  to  reach  it  ...

If  any  members  have  any  CO2  cylinders  for  sale  or  know  of  any  places  where  i  can  procure  them  inexpensively  it  would  make  my  day.

 Thanks
 Soumitra

See  I  am  just  attching  the  link  to  the  CO2  made  by  me!!!  Hope  this  help,  the  pin  is  long  enough  to  help  press  the  nozzle  and  also  works  as  a  nipple  for  the  release  of  gas

 Hi  Fakhruddin
I  saw  the  pics  ..  cool.
Ok,  this  is  what  i  need  ..
Attached  to  the  cylinder  is  a  "T"  piece  with  a  circular  regulator  on  top  and  an  extension  to  the  side  where  my  regulator  would  fit.
That  is  the  piece  i  want.  This  is  missing  in  the  soda  maker  cylinders  we  have  here.
Any  idea  how  much  that  costs   ?
How  long  does  a  sodamaker  cylinder  last  you  ?

 BEst  Regards
 Soumitra

Filled  Co2  cylinders  are  available  for  around  3k.  A  7  kg  cylinder  would  be  ideal  for  handling  and  refilling.  I  could  help  organise  for  Bangalore  guys.

Thats  a  great  article  there  .
 Thanks

I  did  see  a  Fire  extinguisher  cylinder  at  the  place  where  i  was  looking  for  the  cylinders  earlier.  What  is  the  approx  price  of  the  2kh,  3kg  and  5kg  cylinders  ?
