 Hello  All,

A  few  pics  of  my  mbuna  setup  -  its  about  a  month  old.

 Details:
 Tanks:  4  *  1.5  *  1.5  (ft.)
 Setup:  Cichlids  Mbuna

 Decor:
 Petrified  wood
 Clay  pots  and
 River  Pebbles
 Black  gravel....

 Filtration:
 EHEIM  2217
Mozoo  internal  filter  (2300  lts  /  hr.)
 Reverse  UG  filter

 Maintenance:
 1.  Canister  is  24/7
 2.  RUG  is  24/7
 3.  Run  the  internal  filter  for  about  30  min.  a  day  -  it  shuffles  the  entire  tank  of  its  debris  and  other  particles.  (i  attach  a  3ft.  siphon  to  the  outlet  of  the  internal  filter  and  divert  the  flow  to  the  internal  crevices  of  the  tank  (under  the  rocks,  behind  the  pebbles  etc).  -  this  cleans  all  the  impregnable  places)
 4.  15%  WG  a  week
 5.  Internal  filter  cleaned  fortnightly
 6.  30%  to  45%  WG  and  canister  cleaning  -  monthly.

 Inhabitants:  (all  juveniles)
 PseudoTropheus  Sp.
 1.  Blue  Morph
 2.  White  morph
 3.  Orange  morph
 4.  A  few  Zebra  Danio  (to  dessipate  the  aggressiveness)

 Food:
 1.  Spirulina  Flakes
 2.  Dried  Worms  (they  seem  to  like  this  more  than  anything)
 3.  Spiruline  and  Fish  food  pellets.
 4.  Boiled  Peas

Advice  and  comments  are  more  than  welcome...

 KK

 Hey  KK,

Thats  a  cool  looking  tank.  The  set  up  looks  a  little  artificial  and  doesnt  give  a  natural  look  due  to  the  rock  settings.

The  black  river  gravel  looks  damn  cool,  can  you  PM  me  from  where  you  got  it  from.

Which  part  of  Chennai  are  you  from?

 Hi  Camy,

 Thanks  for  the  comments...

The  rock  work  does  make  it  a  little  'out  of  the  world'  -  literally...will  work  on  it  -  the  fishies  like  to  do  their  dances  around  them  though....

I  got  all  the  stuff  (rock,  gravel  etc.)  u  see  on  the  pics  from  Kolathur....if  you  need  specific  directions  -  let  me  know....

 I  am  in  MRC  nagar...Santhome...

 Hey  sandipan,

Its  hard  to  explain  but  will  try  -  its  i  basically  a  metal  sheet  with  plastic  clamps  on  2  ends  of  it  to  clasp  the  tube  (not  rightly  but  just  to  hold  the  metal  sheet.  The  sheet  is  shaped  as  a  semi  U  and  can  be  rotated  around  the  tube.  So  if  you  want  a  dim  white  light  u  can  rotate  the  sheet  all  the  way  to  cover  the  tube  and  so  a  small  part  of  the  light  escapes  giving  it  a  dim  effect  -  likeise  i  can  direct  the  light  to  any  part  of  the  tank  by  shifting  the  sheet  either  ways.

 Hope  this  explains

 KK

The  zebra  danios  dont  mix  well  with  the  African  cichlids,  my  5"  red  top  zebra  ate  2  out  of  5  full  sized  zebra  danios,  for  dithers  better  go  for  the  tiger  barbs,  a  shoal  of  them,  they  are  fast,  tall  bodied  and  dont  fit  easily  in  their  mouth,  moreover  their  schooling  trait  confuses  the  large  fishes.  now  I  have  about  6  of  them  living  happily  with  the  same  mbuna  and  hes  tired  of  chasing  them.
