I have kept both koi and goldfish in a pond with lotus plants in it. The lotus was planted first and allowed to establish itself before the fish were put in. The water is crystal clear and the goldfish have multiplied.

As of my knowledge and research work I guess my concern about pump placement right after the bottom drain is solids being sucked into the pump. If that doesn't seem like a big deal to anyone, then it seems like the most logical place to me. You don't need the sump pump arrangement if you don't want to go to the added expense. You can suck out the water from the sump barrel, when required, with a shop van. I just find it easier with the sump pump in place.

The hole should be a welcome form, geometric formal garden, an informal nature. Critical depth of not more than winter, because it can buy water heater fish pond. (As long as the water does not freeze all the way down, and toxic gases can escape, the fish will be fine in winter.), but the pond is three feet or more in any direction and look forward to the depth should be at least 18 inches. For larger ponds, especially in the colder parts of the region, must be 3 or 4 'deep. (my water garden about 6 on the long side and 200 feet deep at the deepest part of the foot. participate in different depth. a shallow part, where the fish is easy to see, where you can feed them, look at They play, is not that pleasant features.
