Thanks  for  reply,  though,  in  my  understanding,  activated  carbon  will  take  care  of  impurities  by  chemical  reaction  where  as  Purigen  adsorbs  the  impurities  and  polishes  the  water.
The  results  of  both  he  products  are  different,  plus  the  fact  that  charcoal  can't  be  regenerated.

There  was  a  post  on  one  of  the  FB  groups  regarding  someone  selling  a  product  which  was  a  substitute  for  Purigen.  Had  same  principle  of  adsorption,  and  of  course  cheaper.  Anyone  aware  of  it?  That's  y  I  asked  if  someone  know  any  DIY  for  Purigen.

Nope  no  issues  at  all.  I  have  used  a  filter  bag  and  stocking  also.  The  stocking  is  just  as  good  and  holds  up  even  after  treating  with  bleach.  But  make  sure  you  handle  it  carefully  and  dont  rip  it  or  the  purigen  will  leak

Percy  it  works  best  when  used  in  an  external  filter  as  there  its  even  flow  all  around  it  in  the  canister.  ITs  fine  in  a  power  filter  but  the  quanitity  you  can  use  is  limited  and  it  will  hamper  flow  significantly

I  got  my  Purigen  in  the  bag  itself,  ready  to  use.  Don't  we  get  such  packing  here  in  or  country?  (Mine  was  from  USA).  In  any  case  I  would  suggest  to  buy  a  proper  bag  intended  to  be  used  for  Purigen.  Imagine  loosing  the  purigen,  spilled  in  the  tank,  in  case  the  stocking/  other  arrangements  tears.
After  investing  so  much  in  the  Purigen,  a  proper  bag  is  a  must.

You  dont  get  the  100ml  in  bag  packing  here  nor  the  bag  itself.  Nothing  will  happen  if  it  escapes  into  the  tank.  any  fine  mesh  filter  bag  will  do

yes  mortis,  nothing  will  happen  if  it  escapes  in  the  tank,  no  harm,  but  obviously  you  will  loose  the  Purigen,  it  is  supposed  to  be  in  the  filter  as  a  media  and  not  as  gravel/sand  in  the  tank,  isn't  it?

Garothman,  I  think  it  should  be  in  use  all  the  time  to  see  its  effect.  If  you  use  it  for  sometime  and  remove  it,  that  polishing  effect  will  be  lost  again.
