Is it a new setup ? Looks like new plants are adapting from emmersed to submerged form. Be patient. REduce intensity of light for a while and also the number of hrs it is onto 5-6. If not adding then start with liquid fertilizers also. Check your CO2 and flow |

Thank you for the reply Mortis ; It's around 75 days old.. Could you give me the exact dosing process? I tried with EI, but observed that the Nitrate count just went tooo high.. So I've stopped EI.. Would appreciate if you could guide me with the right dosing method. |

Low light, Low CO2, LOW Iron and trace elements
The low light plants are doing well. The AR mini is showing a lot of deficiency.
Can you specify the amount of light you are using on that tank?
How are you diffusing CO2? How much CO2 are you adding? |

Hi Preeths,
The lights are on from 7 to 10 in the morning and again from 8 to 11 in the evening (when we're at home).
the lights are custom led's hooked onto the hood of the tank: https://www.moglix.com/crystal-electric-100w-cool-white-led-flood-light/mp/msn2vsegqbsme9?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIm4K3pezW2QIVApWPCh18zgD3EAQYASABEgKYIfD_BwE
Pressurised Co2 is diffused through a cylinder, co2 only when the light is on.. roughly around 2 bps...
dosing has been a concern.. I was EI dosing but as I said, the Nitrate levels shot up extensively...as high as 200 ppm.. I looked at some YouTube videos by Dr.Kevin Novak who advised against infusing Nitrates and Phosphates into the tank since it would be naturally infused through feeding fish.. That's the part where I'm totally confused.. The dosing bit.. Tried looking up for dosing calculators etc but nothing was conclusive.. So needed help from someone experienced about the dosing bit :)
Also if there any change to be made to the lighting hours etc, I'm open to it.. |

A 30 min break between two lighting cycles is fine. The plants will find it difficult to adjust to 3 hours light in the morning and 3 hours in the evening. In nature its just one continuous light period. Choose a good time and let the lighting be on for 7.5 to 8 hours.
Check the driver, or measure the current, the cheap Chinese LED flood lights don't put out the advertised amount of light. You will need more red and blue spectrum LED's
Dose micro nutrients, CSM+b or something similar.
Co2 is not sufficient for the Large size tank. Add an other diffuser at the opposite End, That will help. |

I have almost the same lighting schedule, but I have 50 watts of cree LED DIY Build with 4500 lumens of out put..
Most of the low light plants are doing fine and glosso is putting out runners as well, even Dwarf hair grass is doing ok.
Dosing EI is not a problem, dosing it according to need is important and doing the recommended water changes is a must.
I dont have faith in Chinese LED, There is new launch of Phillips LED Stellar series. Use 2 nos of 50 w for your tank.. that should take care of your Lighting.. |

Ensure that CO2 comes on atleast an hour to two hours before lights are on. Considering your having two photoperiods of 3 hours each and you are supplying CO2 at 2bps, there is hardly enough time for plants to make use of the CO2. Start with one photo period of 6 hours, start CO2 2hours before lights come on and stop CO2 1hour to 30 mts before lights turn off. Dose Pottasium. |
