Just  for  interest,  I  want  to  know  how  to  start  a  daphnia  culture.  I  was  reading  and  almost  all  says  that  you  need  to  buy  a  culture  to  start  your  own  process.  is  it  the  only  way?
We  do  not  get  daphnia  here  in  Hyderabad,  unlike  other  regions  so  my  fishes  do  not  get  to  taste  them.

You  could  go  out  and  catch  your  own  daphnia...  They're  usually  found  all  year  round  in  tailing  ponds  attached  to  dairies  or  horse  farms.  (Tailing  pond=place  where  all  the  animal  waste  accumulates.  Smelly  and  yucky,  but  full  of  nutrients.)

Alternatively,  you  can  buy  resting  eggs  from  biological  supply  houses.  I  do  not  know  of  any  in  India,  but  the  product  is  light  and  dry,  so  you  can  have  it  shipped  in.

Nothing  frozen  can  have  the  same  nutrition  value  as  anything  live.  The  only  advantage  of  frozen  foods  is  that  it  could  be  more  hygienic  and  convenient  since  it  is  processed  and  vacuum  packed.

The  place  where  from  I  buy  daphnia,  they  collect  and  place  them  in  clear  water.  Then  the  daphnia  comes  up  and  the  sediments  go  down.
