 Thanks  Deba  and  Andrew.

Yep,  the  debris  could  have  been  removed  for  the  photo.  But  practically,  it's  hard  to  keep  it  that  way,  especially  when  you  have  Amano  and  Ghost  Shrimps  running  around  Smile

Regarding  Platinum  soil.  Honestly,  I  am  new  to  this  hobby  and  do  not  know  how  true  my  comments  will  be.  I  haven't  used  any  demanding  plants  to  really  know  how  good  is  it.  But  will  share  what  I  have  noticed.

I  have  used  both  ADA  Amazonia  and  Platinum  Soil.  The  plants  I  have  used  grows  on  both  Smile
I  have  also  noticed  that  plants  growing  in  the  river  sand.  Eg.  MC  and  HM.  I  guess  it's  because  the  nutrients  get  mixed  with  the  soil  when  its  placed  above  the  substrate.

But  what  is  different  in  platinum  soil  from  the  other  is  that  it's  easy  to  work  with  from  the  first  day.  It  does  not  cloud  the  water  like  other  soil  and  is  a  great  advantage  for  beginners  when  setting  up  a  new  tank.  No  messy  water,  No  frustration...
It  is  a  little  smaller  than  ADA  Amazonia  that  helps  plants  with  smaller  roots.  I  think  ADA  powder  soil  will  be  the  best  for  plants  like  HM,  MC,  JHG  etc...  for  dense  growth  and  carpeting.  Or  may  be  a  mix  of  both...
No  much  melting  noticed  in  the  last  7-8  months.
 So  far  so  good.

 Regards
 Prajith
