Rex,
You should know Chinese timers blow up in a few days controlling one output. I don't want to even look at the multi output ones.
I would need a mass order just to stock up for failed timers all for myself.
Seetharam, the 4 output timers may work out expensive as you can programme each out put for almost each day or week of the year, I haven't read the brochure completely but at first glance I saw something to the effect. There's a Programming Calendar too blah blah blah.
Probably 2 of 2 output timers will work out a lot cheaper.
The 4 output ones may work out for Marine tanks. That girl hasn't sent me full specs and prices today, I'll be after her tomorrow.
BTW I am not importing these timers, no way. These are high end timers available in Bangalore. Where and How much is what I am waiting for. |

Good to see you back in action, Madan.
I am looking for a single timer for my tanks (5 in number), which will be able to switch on at 11 am and switch off at 5 pm, again switch on at 7 pm and switch off at 10 pm. Is anything like that available in Indian markets?
Sorry to give you such a graphic request but that is what I am sincerely looking at.
Thanks in advance. |

Deba keep away from Timers. Switch ON and Switch OFF the lights manually everyday. |

Ranjit I have absolutely no idea of the price. These are high end industrial Timers, used in Industrial process automation I am looking at. The India rep for the makers has promised to get back to me with the price. I am approaching them directly so that some retail rep does not quote an exorbitant price to us. A bit of personal blah blah blah involved here.
I haven't yet received any info from them, as soon as I find out I'll post the price here along with details. |

Madan
I would not mind if I could have double output one too, I have built one for myself but its clock is a little off (have not been able to adjust it properly) and loses 10 mins. every week. |

Every Timer will loose time, unless you use a chronometer to keep perfect time. Change the clock.
These industrial timers too loose 15 secs per month at 25 Deg C. |

I could adjust the clock if I had the right instruments to read the pulse rates but I have only analog instruments. Changing it would not create a better clock as I would have to adjust the new one again on my instruments.
Anyway this is 3 years old and has done all that I could have asked of it and needs to be replaced. I hope the replacement is not another DIY as I am not getting any younger, and I don't do so much electronics any more. |

After 1 whole week I got a quote from the guys for the timers I was talking about.
The cheapest is a 6 input - 4 output model at Rs.8100.
The others
Weekly Timer 2 output is 15300
Yearly Timer 4 output costs 24,900
A Daily 24x7 twin output one costs 12700
There is one more 4 output Economy Model I am waiting for a quote. It could be less than Rs.8100
A very gracious 10% discount is offered on cash with order.
I think we will pass this one! |
