 Hi  Mohan,

Good  stock  and  well  maintained.  Your  daily  WC  has  helped  you  avoid  any  problem  because  of  overstocking  till  now  but  as  suggested  by  others,  I  think  its  better  to  reduce  the  numbers  to  avoid  any  problems  in  future.

 Are  any  discus  pairing  up?

 Rgds
 Bala

 Hi  mohan
nice  collection,   but  overcrowding  leds  to  problem.
Sponge  filter  is  best,  I  have  3  in  a  3  ft  x1ft  x15in  H  tank  attach  by  a  single  air  pump. It  works  fine.

 Hi  Everyone

Thanks  for  the  tonnes  of  advise.  They  are  all  valuable  for  a  novice  like  me  in  fish  keeping.  (just  1.5  yrs  in  the  hobby).

Harpreet:  You  will  be  the  first  to  get  my  free  Discus  when  I  decide  to  reduce  the  number
   in  my  tank.

Tabby:  The  diet  is  only  tetrabits  and  Dried  Bloodworm.  No  live  feed,  no  BHM  or  GHM.

 Regards

 Mohan

 Hi  Mohan  ,

Your  discus  are  looking  good  and  healthy  ,  try  to  give  them  bigger  tank  .

One  thing  I  have  notice  that  with  compare   to  other  Discus  your  Blue  Daimond's  stomach  looks  bloated  ,  You  need  to  observe  them  before  and  after  feeding  .

 Keep  us  posted  .

 Thanks

 Dear  Mohan
Nice  colour  and  shape  but  it  seems  to  be  overcrowded.  Please  share  the  information   about  food  and  regular  maintenance.
 Regards
 Kaushik

Along  with  the  discuss  I  am  more  impressed  with  the  BB  tank.  It  is  so  clean.
I  could  never  keep  mine  so  clean  Smile

While  everyone  is  talking  about  overcrowding,
Is  it  not  OK  since  he  is  doing  a  20%  WC  everyday  ?
I  have  no  idea  about  discus  since  I  have  never  kept  them.
Does  overcrowding  of  discuss  lead  to  stunted  growth  or  something  like  that?
 Please  guide.

Being  a  total  stranger  to  'Discus'  -  unable  to  'Discuss'  the  same  here.

But  from  limited  knowledge  that  I  have  gained  from  these  forums,
I  second,  what  Rohan  is  stating  here.

As  they  say  -  the  proof  of  the  pudding  is  in  the  eating.
Past  pattern  indicates  good  progress,  and  if  every  parameter  remains  unchanged  -
I  guess  there  should  be  no  issues.  Just  a  safe  assumption  -  not  an  advice.
Good  show  Mohan.  I  would  certainly  take  some  tips  from  you  on  the  same.

 Regards,
 K  Ram

 Hi  Rohan

I  have  no  idea  about  discus  since  I  have  never  kept  them.
Does  overcrowding  of  discuss  lead  to  stunted  growth  or  something  like  that?
 Please  guide.

The  growth  of  discus  is  depends  upon  various  factors  ,  like  Genes  ,  water  volume  per  discus  ,  water  parameter  ,  feeding  ,  feeding  Schedule  ,  filteration  system  ,  stress  level  etc  .

If  the  tank  is  overcrowding  ,  the  consumption  of  dissolved  oxygen  in  the  tank  will  be  more  ,  Ammonia  level  in  tank  will  be  high  due  to  waste  and  left  over  food  .

Evenn  though  Â Mohan's  tank  is  overcrowded  ,  he  is  feeding  only  dry  feed  ,  (  No  Beef  Heart  )  hence  the  Ammonia  level  may  be  low  .  Also  good  filter  is  attached  to  this  tank  which  controls  lot  of  other  things  .  One  more  thing  I  know  about  this  tank  ,  which  Mohan  has  not  mentioned  here  .

"  before  any  next  Â feeding  ,  they  Â ensure  that  all  the  fish  waste  and  any  left  over  in  the  tank  is  removed  from  the  tank  .  "  Â He  and  his  wife  don't  like  the  discus  to  eat  the  food  from  the  waste  .  this  is  the  very  good  practice  and  very  few  people  manage  to  maintain  this  .  This  is  the  key  to  his  sucess  .

One  more  thing  ,  Mrs  &  Mr  Mohan  are  so  attached  to  these  Discus  ,  that  they  have  kept  the  names  to  different  discus  ,  APPU  is  one  of  them  .  One  who  keeps  the  discus  to  their  heart,  Â are  always  suceed  in  keeping  the  discus  ,  and  face  less  problems  .

 Thanks
 Shiva  Nair

Ok.  Thanks  for  the  explaination  Shiva.
So  is  it  safe  to  conclude  that  tank  is  not  overcrowded  or  even  if  it  is  overcrowded  by  normal  standards,  it  is  OK  since  he  is  take  appropriate  care.
