PLL  work  with  electronic  ballast.  No  problem  at  all.  I  am  not  a  expert  in  electronics  but  i  have  my  PLL  fixed  to  an  electronic  ballast.

Copper  choke  gives  out  heat  and  is  not  preferred  for  aquarium  use.

 Your  shopkeeper  is  right.

 Hi  Abhi,

You  can  go  for  electronic  chokes  /  Electronic  Control  gears  (ECG)  for  PLL.

The  Osram  model  is  EZ  -  H2  X  36/40.  It  retails  for  around  Rs.  400-450.
The  advantage  of  this  choke  is  it  can  drive  2  X  36W  PLL  or  40W  Tubes.

BTW  Get  a  properly  qualified  electrician  to  fit  this  for  you.  Thumb Up

 Rgds
 Prabhu

Yeah  right  but  you  need  4  chokes,  If  you  are  not  constrained  for  space  to  fit  4  of  them,  then  go  for  it.
But  ensure  water  does  not  splash  /  spray  on  to  the  chokes.

No,  this  is  just  the  ECG  to  drive  2  Tubes  /  PLL's  or  even  4  of  lesser  wattage.

 Rgds,
 Prabhu

 Hi

I  am  running  my  PLL  on  the  electronic  choke  (1  40W  choke  per  36W  lamp)  for  the  last  3  month  with  no  issues.  I  picked  up  the  choke  for  Rs  100/-.

 Hope  this  helps.

 Harpreet.
