      Actually,  I  baked  everything  on  my  own!!!    Oops  I  know  that  one  was  rather  gooey.  Sorry!Smile  It  has  been  over  a  year  since  I  baked  my  last  cake.  Hence  all  those  blunders.    Razz  Shall  have  to  work  on  improving  my  culinary  skills.

I'm  glad  that  you  had  a  successful  and  enjoyable  trip.  The  pictures  are  amazing,  and  I  simply  cannot  wait  to  read  the  article  that  you  guys  are  gonna  put  together  soon.

That  is  correct,  Vinny  Kutty  reports  seeing  females  guarding  eggs  in  late  December...interestingly  he  states  there  were  no  males  guarding  eggs.

Well  planned  and  very  well  executed!  Very Happy      The  credit  goes  to  Nayak  &  Trevor!

E.canarensis  were  found  gazing  on  the  algae  on  rocks.    In  all  3  biotopes  they  were  seldom  found  alone.    They  were  along  with  P.filamentosus,  P.aurilius,  P.mahecola.    Sounded  that  they  followed  the  barbs  for  safety  and  mostly  found  along  the  rocky  banks.    Also  when  stood  with  no  movements  they  were  pecking  on  our  legs.    What  a  moment  it  was  to  be  pecked  by  one  of  the  rarest  cichlid  in  the  world!  Very Happy
Also  found  a  group  of  E.maculatus  &  E.suratensis  in  pure  fresh  water  along  sandy  banks  along  with  a  few  panchax  and  barbs.
But  these  guys  were  extremely  brilliant.    When  we  tried  to  chase  them  to  our  nets  they  were  smart  enough  to  take  a  diversion  away  from  the  net  through  narrow  paths  between  rocks.

....and  Pristolepis  malabaricus  too  shared  the  waters  with  E.canarensis,  but  unlike  them  P.malabaricus  were  seen  among  roots  and  drift  woods  on  the  banks  of  the  water  hole.    And  the  tiny  puffers.

Patience  Rahul!    Around  5-6  cameras  were  loaded  full  of  pics  and  all  comming  the  way.    Think  Ravi  should  upgrade  for  more  gallery  space!

 Hi  Rahul,

The  trouble  is  that  Ravi  and  me  shot  the  pics  at  8  Mp  mode  and  a  resolution  of  3264  x  2448,  each  pic  is  more  than  3  Mb  size.  Ravi  might  have  shot  some  in  RAW  mode  too.

So  we  are  now  resorting  all  the  pics  and  resizing  them  to  700  x570  resolution  so  that  they  can  be  viewed  on  your  screen  easily.

Sorry,  yesterday  was  spent  in  recouping  and  dealing  with  bad  backs.  Will  do  them  today  and  get  the  water  analysis  reports.

Please  bear  with  us.  Meanwhile  Madhu,  Beta  give  Rahul  a  run  down  of  all  we  found.  Please!!!!!!!!!

Is  gallery  space  a  problem  ?  Just  checked  &  found  everyone  has  sufficient  space.  Incase  more  space  is  required,  please  PM  me.

BTW,  I  noticed  that  your  gallery  is  empty  !
