I  am  sure  it  will  do  well  in  your  tank  but  at  least  double  your  lighting.  Thumb Up

Buddy....  first  of  all  I  would  request  you  to  update  your  Signature  with  your  real  name,  as  no  one  will  be  happy  to  address  a  human  as  'Planted  Nano'.

 Now  let  me  be  honest.

You  have  a  5  G  tank  and  16W  of  light.  I  am  sorry  to  tell  you  that  this  much  of  light  won't  be  enough  to  grow  any  Foreground.  Java  Moss  will  grow  in  this  light  but  the  growth  rate  will  be  too  slow.  And  wait  for  minimum  1  month  to  see  the  moss  starts  growing.

I  will  strongly  suggest  you  before  you  go  for  any  setup,  plan  everything.  Read  a  lot  and  then  only  start  it.  Otherwise  that  will  be  wastage  of  time,  energy  ,  money  and  the  out  come  will  be  frustration  and  disapointment.

But  tirtha-da  we  knew  that  even  riccia  is  pretty  tough  to  keep.  Is  it  good  for  a  planted  tank  beginner?

It's  tough  to  keep  the  mess  in  control  but  easy  to  grow.  When  they  will  start  to  grow,  they  will  start  to  float  shortly  and  will  be  everywhere.

I  was  about  to  suggest  you  java  moss  on  ston  (rather  flat  pebbles  /  stones  /  slate)  which  you  could  have  used  to  make  a  carpet,  untill  i  reached  the  last  few  posts.

What  I  will  suggest  is  hang  on  with  your  tank  for  a  while,  patience  will  be  well  rewarded.  Give  the  Java  wall  atleast  a  month,  see  if  everthing  is  growing  well,  incase  of  issues  correct  them  with  all  the  help  from  senior  members  of  IAH.

In  the  meanwhile,  read  a  lot  more  on  IAH  and  the  internet  on  related  topics.

 Good  luck.
 Harpreet.

 Hello  Tirtha,

Sorry  to  jump  in  here.  I  have  been  following  this  thread  and  looking  for  a  similar  set  up.  My  query  is  about  the  CPU  fan.  How  do  you  do  the  wiring  and  attach  to  the  tank?

CPU  Fans  (DC  Fans)  are  available  in  different  size.  You  can  connect  them  to  any  12V  adapter.  This  will  work  like  a  charm.
