Try  to  get  the  fish  (other  than  the  parents)  out  of  the  tank  without  disturbing  the  parents  too  much  ...   then  you  could  see  if  the  eggs  hatch...  if  they  do  ....  let  us  know  and  we  will  tell  you  what  is  to  be  done  ..  basically  they  are  not  to  be  disturbed  till  atleast  2  days  after  hatching  feed  negligible  during  this  time...

 Hi,

I  feel  prepare  another  tank  of  18"x18"x18".  Keep  your  tank  ready  for  next  breed  because  its  very  difficult  now  to  get  good  spawn  from  this  eggs  (you  have  gravel,  another  fish  in  same  tank  etc...).  Your  pair  can  lay  eggs  in  next  4-15  days.  Try  to  give  best  water  condition  at  that  time  to  start  in  better  way.  Rest  everything  is  written  so  many  times  in  this  forum  about  how  to  breed  discus,  grow  babies  &  there  problems.  I'll  write  summary  from  those.

 1.  Keep  water  clean
 2.  Use  Methylene  Blue  after  laying  eggs
 3.  Don't  feed  your  discus  anything  till  babies  itself  not  coming  on  parents  body  (approx.  5-6  days  from  laying  eggs)
 4.  Feed  them  brine  shrimp  after  12-15  days  (count  from  lay  the  eggs)

Good  Luck  &  Keep  us  updated.

 Sudhakar

In  community  tank  if  you  have  matured  female  she  may  lays  eggs  ,  but  to  get  the  eggs  fertile  you  also   needs  a  confirm  male  .

You  should  watch  out  for  below  signs  to  get  out  the  confirm  pair  from  your  community  tank  .

 1)  Two  adult  discus  are  always  staying  together  ,  and  trying  to  occupy  one  corner  of  the  community  tank   and  try  to  keep   other  discus  away  .
 2)  Also  see  if  they  are   mouthing   ,  Trembling  ,  courting  etc  .

If  you  observe  above  two  signs  then  you  need  to  seperate  these  two  discus  assuming  that  they  are  confirmed  pair  .
You  need  to  provide  them  with  seperate  breeding  tank  and  breeding  bed  and  provide  them  with  good  water  condition  .
To  get  the  fries  from  the  eggs  the  male  should  be  matured  and  fertile  (  working  Male  )

 Thanks

 Hi

Thank  u  for  your  replies.  unfortunatly  total  eggs  are  vanished  from  my  tank.  I  came  to  the  conclusion  from  my  observation  that  i  ve  one  male  and  a  female.  they  are  accupying  a  corner.  After  they  bred  i  observed  one  discus  guarding  the  eggs  and  the  other  one  chasing  other  fishes.finally  there  r  no  eggs  in  tank.

but  yester  day  i  observed  again  they  r  doing  some  kind  of  dance  in  a  corner  by  their  tails.r  they  ready  for  once  again?

       thanks
 Sudhakar
