Kribensis,  Madagascar  rainbow  in  4  feet  tank  and  Cory  bred  in  2  feet  tank;  both  comunity  tanks

 Tank  Specification  (4  feet  tank):
 4ft  X  2  ft  X  2ft.
Tank  Age:  6  Months  Old  and  fairly  stable.

 2  feet  tank  specifications
 2ft  x  1.5  x  1.5
 Age:  3  months

We  could  see  the  madagascar  rainbow  laying  eggs  on  the  java  moss,  but   we  were  not  able  to  locate  the  eggs.  We  tried  collecting  the  dust  over  the  java  moss  and  dropped  it  in  1ft  tank.  After  a  week  we  were  able  to  see  one  madagascar  fry  swimming.   Smile

Cory  laid  eggs  in  glass.  By  the  time  we  scrapped  the  eggs,  only  3  eggs  were  reamining.  Cory  eggs  are  transparent  and  that  too  when  they  are  in  glass,  it  is  very  difficult  to  see.  The  ones  which  hatched  must  have  gotten  eaten  I  guess.

Krib  laid  about  30-40  frys  and  parents  are  running  around  taking  the  frys  for  a  tour  within  the  community  tank.  Still  thinking  if  the  frys  should  be  seperated  and  kept  in  1  cube  tank  given  that  frys  are  currently  in  a  community  tank

 Here  are  the  pictures..

One  small  correction.  The  Rainbow  fish  is  Australian  Rainbow  and  not  Madagascar  (the  one  in  the  4  feet  tank).

Wanted  some  advice.  How  long  can  we  keep  Krib  frys  in  the  community  tank.  The  other  fishes  are  now  going  around  the  fries  more  often.

You  may  take  the  babies  out,  if  they  are  free  swimming.

congrats  on  spawning  the  fish  Clapping
seperate  the  fry  to  a  10g  tank  with  the  water  taken  from  the  parents  tank,
it  will  be  better  if  you  siphon  the  fry  instead  of  netting  them,
they  may  appear  a  bit   drowsy  when  siphoned  but  will  be  alright,
put  a  sponge  filter  in  one  corner  of  the  tank,
feed  the  fry  on  microworms  for  the  first  week  and  then  on  baby  brine  shrimps  after  a  week  till  they  are  able  to  accept  crushed  flakes.
best  of  luck  raising  the  fry  Thumb Up
