Now  I  will  go  for  some  food  filter  ...What  about  EHIM  2217  !!

 Dear  Abhis9,

Flow  of  2217  would  be  too  much  for  your  63Gal  tank  and  discus  would  not  prefer  such  heavy  turbulence
2215  would  be  better  choice  for  your  tank  if  you  planning  for  any  external  filter.
I  would  suggest  you  to  keep  simple  sponge  filter  as  well  for  more  aeration.

Here's  mine  archival  pic  with  both  filters  if  you  would  like  to  see.

Hikari  Bio  Gold  Discus  Food  is  scientifically  formulated  discus  food  which   provide  complete  and  balanced  fish  nutrition  and  contain  natural  carotenoids  for  color  development  and  enhancement.  Good  food  for  Discus  .

Good  feeding  and  max  WC  will  keep  your  discus  healthy  and  will  help  them  to  grow  fast  .  Pl  ensure  at  the  end  of  the  day  there  should  not  be  any  left  over  in  the  tank  .  This  will  minimise  the  Ammonia  level  in  the  tank  .

 Thanks

I  hope  Abhi  doesn't  mind,  but  let  me  clarify  this  for  some  of  the  members  (so  that  they  can  provide  the  best  advice),  that  by  crocodile  (a  LFS  term  in  Kolkata)  he  means   a  common  Pleco.

I  am  not  at  all  familiar  with  discuss,  but  common  sense  tells  me  that  the  pleco  will  grow  very  large  and  produce  lot  of  waste.  Moreover  it's  unruly  movement  may  bother  the  discuss  too.  Please  get  it  conformed  by  someone  like  Mithun,  Yogesh  or  others.

As  for  Mithun's  advice  of  70%  WC  every  week,  please  consult  the  experts  whether  such  large  water  change  will  cause  any  shock  to  the  discuss.  I  am  sure  that  you  heat  the  water  to  your  tank  temperature  level  before  pouring  it  in.

I  know  about  size  of  Pleco....when  it  come  bigger  I  thorw  him  and  bring  little  again  ...like  WC  Very Happy

About  WC  I  never  change  70%...ruther  than  I  do  3  time  in  a  week  arround  20-30%....That's  all...

Pleco  is  not  recommended  in  a  discus  tank  due  to  stress  factor.
