I  also  went  through  the  other  post  you  referred  to,  my  ADA  tank  would  have  been  very  different  had  I  read  that  one  before.  :(

It  is  doing  good...but  the  scape  (what  scape,  I  dont  think  I  have  any  scape)  would  have  been  much  better

 Mayur,

 Bolbitus
Java  Fern(  added  after  the  picture  was  taken)
 roripa  aquatica
 Anubias  gold,
 Anubias  petite
 Anubias  coffeefolia.
Christmas  moss  on  the  wood  in  a  few  places.

I  know  zilch  about  the  Rorippa  aquatica,  but  I  am  familiar  with  Bolbitis  [heudoliti],  Java  fern,  Anubias  variants  and  the  moss,  but  do  these  really  benefit  from  ADA  substrate?  Please  let  us  know  what  you  have  personally  experienced  in  this  tank.

No  offence,  but  can  you  please  elaborate  why  exactly  we  are  calling  this  an  ADA  Bolbitis  tank?  How  many  ADA  products,  and  which  ones  exactly  are  you  using  in  this  tank?

A  full  frontal  shot  [I  mean  a  picture  of  the  complete  tank  taken  from  the  front]  would  be  great,  and  would  answer  a  lot  of  questions!

 Thank  You  All.

Shreyas  you  are  most  welcome  to  come.

 @Nitin,

The  ADA  Products  that  i  have  used  and  am  using  in  this  tank.

 ADA  Power  SAnd  Special
 ADA  Amazonia  II
 ADA  Branco(Decorative  sand)
 ADA  MH  (NAMH  150w  )
 ADA  Co2  Diffuser
 ADA  Bio  Rio  (Filter  Media)

 ADA  Bacter  100
 ADA  Clear  Super
 ADA  Tourmaline  BC

 ADA  Brighty  K
 ADA  Green  Brighty  Step  1
 ADA  Green  Bacter
 ADA  Green  Gain
 ADA  Phyton  Git
 ADA  ECA

 ADA  Moss  Cotton
 ADA  Wood  Tight

I  hope  we  can  now  call  it  an  ADA  bolbitis  Aquarium.

The  benifit  is  clearly  visible,  i  have  more  than  doubled  all  the  plants  that  i  have  used.  The  bolbitis  had  taken  a  beating  due  to  the  shifting,  if  not  for  the  ADA  products  it  would  have  take  far  longer  to  grow  back.

will  post  a  few  pictures  later  this  evening.

 Good  looking  tank,  Mayur.

Does  the  use  of  ADA  Power  Sand  Special  &  ADA  Amazonia  II  have  any  effect  on  the  growth  of  the  Bolbitis?  Do  they  leach  nutrients  into  the  water?

No  pun  intended.  Just  a  lack  of  understanding  of  ADA  products.  I  still  haven't  used  one  as  yet.  Some  day,  I  will.

 Thanks  Suraj.

Coming  from  you  means  a  lot.

Power  Sand  Special  -  is  a  base  substrate  with  additional  organic  neutrients,  Actully  excellent  for  the  plants  that  actively  absorb  neutrients  from  the   root,  It  also  provides  neutrients  to  all  aquatic  plants  promoting  plants  and  bacteria  growth.  It  is  a  porus  volcanic  stones  that  secure  water  circulation  and  organic  neutrients  helping  bacteria  growth.

Bacter  100  and  clear  super  are  blended  for  bacteria  growth.

Aqua  Soil  -  Amazonia  II  -  is  a  substrate  material  rich  in  organic  acid  and  neutrients  promoting  the  growth  of  all  aquatic  plant  roots,  it  emphasizes  the  water  condition  adjustment  effect.  Amazonia  II  tends  to  lower  the  PH  and  KH  and  it  is  recomended  for  the  case  where  the  tap  water  is  alkaline.

You  are  most  welcome  to  clear  all  your  doubts,  It  is  never  too  late  to  learn  new  things,  The  best  way  to  learn  is  to  try  it,  that  is  how  i  learnt.

I  follow  the  ADA  guidelines  to  the  T,  this  was  the  first  lesson  i  learnt.

Experts  like  you  can  do  wonders  with  ADA,  I  can  bet  on  this.  Thumb Up

My  understanding  is  that  ADA  here  has  helped  with  the  nutrients  (Green  Bacter,  Brighty  K,  Green  Brighty  etc.,)  and  the  lighting  (ADA  MH)  but  the  Powersand  and  Amazonia  II  would  be  irrelevant  for  this  tank  since  they  are  feeding  nutrients  to  the  roots  alone.  Branco  is  anyway  for  decorative  purpose  only.

Why  not  add  stems  to  the  background  so  the  soil  is  also  utilized  to  the  fullest?

 Valid  point  suraj,

May  be  you  missed  this  link

 http://indianaquariumhobbyist.com/community/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=8057

I  started  this  tank  with  stem,  rossette  plants  also,  and  the  picture  you  see  now  is  of  the  tank  re  done  after  shifting,
The  ADA  soil  and  powersand  were  already  there,

I  could  have  removed  it  completly,  couple  of  reasons  i  did  not  were

 1.  i  had  spent  some  money  on  the  soil  in  the  first  place
 2.  i  can  always  add  stem  or  root  plants  to  the  tank.
 3.  i  have  rorippa  aquatica  growing  well  in  it.

Also  there  have  been  a  few  additions  after  this  photo  was  taken,  like  javafern,  and  a  stem  of  Ludwiga  inclinata  var  cuba  wich  i  intend  to  grow  in  the  back  ground.

Keep  in  mind  that  Amazonia  II  tends  to  lower  the  PH  and  KH  and  it  is  recomended  for  the  case  where  the  tap  water  is  alkaline.

Also  all  rhizome  plants  also  grow  roots(arieal)  and  it  is  not  like  they  need  lesser  neutrients.

 Vaild  point  Suraj,

Mayur  is  so  happy  with  his  bolbitis  that  he  dare  not  use  a  scissor  on  this  plant.  And  below   the  shade  this  plant   how  can  Mayur  grow  the  high  light  stems  plants  at  the  back??

Well  as  for  Bolbitis  am  sure  many  people  have  seen  it  over  the  years  and  to  be  honest  i  also  had  tried  my  hand  with  this  and  if  i  remember  correctly  i  think  Mayur  is  the  first  guy  to  grow  Bolbitis  like  this  and  wild.  Its  the  first  time  in  India  i  have  seen  it  grow  out  of  a  tank.  Only  Nikhil  Sood  had  some  luck  with  this  plant  some  years  ago...  but  am  sure  he  will  be  suprised  when  he  get  back  to  bangalore  and   checks  the  bolbitis   in  the  Bakers  tank.
