 Hi

Can  give  you  the  price  of  distributors  in  Pune.  You  need  to  check  on  the  availability  of  models  as  well  as  prices.

Madan  Sir  is  it  possible  to  make  a  sump  instead  of  putting  so  much  money  in  a  canister?

A  sump  would  be  the  best  option  IMO.  You  would  have  the  most  effective  bio  filtration  due  to  the  exposed  surface  area.

Well  Nitin  I  did  not  suggest  a  sump  right  away,  as  I  realised  you  would  have  space  constraints.

Otherwise  you  wouldn't  be  thinking  of  filtration  'after'  you  have  the  tank  in  place.  Very Happy

Now  that  you  have  ordered  the  filters  stick  with  it,  if  cancelling  is  not  an  option.

I  would  have  suggested  a  top  DIY  filter  with  Eheim  pumps  to  cut  down  on  costs  and  provide  excellent  bacterial  filtration  as  the  media  would  be  exposed  to  air,  whereas  in  a  Canister  the  bacteria  would  be  using  up  oxygen  from  the  water.

I  still  don't  know  what  livestock  you  are  planning  on  adding  to  the  tank.

With  that  size  of  a  tank,  I  will  probably  be  queuing  outside  your  home  one  of  these  days!  Very Happy

Hi  Sorry  to  bring  this  up  when  you  have  already  purchased  the  filter,  but  I  thought  it  might  be  useful  for  someone  else  who  is  searching  for  Eheim  filters.

I  had  searched  around  quite  a  lot  for  purchasing  a  filter.  I  found  that  the  prices  quoted  by  the  guys  on  the  IAH  ie  Nitin  {Nytyn},  Deepak  Brid  {Aquadeep},  Rocky  {DJ_Rocky},  etc  are  cheaper  by  15-20%  than  the  prizes  quoted  by  Indus  marketing.  Aquazona  in  Delhi  is  also  cheaper  than  Indus.

I  hope  that  the  admins/mods  would  not  pull  me  up  and  delete  this  post.  I  think  this  is  useful  for  new  users,  especially  when  there  is  likely  to  be  a  mad  scramble  for  the  Eheim  filters  till  the  prizes  go  up.

Just  a  small  clarification.  for  a  60   gallon  tank,  what  is  more  effective.  One  filter  with  a  100+  ltrs/hrs  capacity  or  two  seperate  filters  of  500+  capacities?

 Hi,
Since  you  have  dug  up  Eheim  thread,  can  you  clarify  which  filter  models  are  you  talking  about?

 Dear  Madan  Sier
Does  it  work  the  same  way  for  a  slightly  bigger  tank  too.
I  am  planing  to  have  a  slightly  bigger  aquarium  (48x18x24)
Will  two  ehim  2213  filters  be  more  beneficial  than  a  single  2217?
 Please  guide.  I  already  have  a  2213.
