 Thankyou  dj_square.

Tank  status  as  on  1st  February.  Its  almost  completing  3  months.  wef  8th  January  reduced  the  photoperiod  to  8  hrs  and  since  then  have  observed  that  the  water  has  managed  to  stay  clear.  Hope  it  becomes  crystal  clear  soon.  Am  doing  70%  WC  on  each  weekend

Added  6nos  1"  angels.  Traded  in  a  few  plant  cuttings  with  a  local  LFS  and  he  was  kind  to  give  me  a  bulb  of  Nuphar  Japonica.  It  has  sprouted  4  new  leaves  since  establishment  in  my  tank

Please  help  me  identify  the  plant  in  the  image  below.  Got  a  small  piece  along  with  the  riccia  from  Ranjit's  tank.  It  grew  into  that  bunch  while  staying  entangled  in  the  riccia.  Last  weekend  planted  it  seperately.  Is  it  elodea?

Got  the  above  as  baby  tears  which  I  know  it  isn't.  Identity  crisis!!

Neelesh  ,  plant  growth  is  looking  good.  The  water  needs  to  clear  up  though.  The  plant  is  Rotala  rotoundifolia.  Try  taking  the  pictures  at  night  with  just  the  tank  lights  on  in  the  room.  Will  help  in  capturing  the  beauty  of  the  tank.

 Cheers
 Bhushan

Thanks  Bhushan.  Will  definitely  take  your  advice.

I  guess  you  are  referring  to  the  3rd  image  as  rotala  rotundifolia.  What  about  the  plant  in  the  2nd  image?

Yes  ,  the  third  pic  is  R  rotundifolia.  Will  need  a  better  pic  of  the  second  plant  to  identify  it.

 17th  Jan:
Cleaned  the  filter  media.  It  had  accumulated  a  lot  of  scum.

 28th  Jan:
 Reduced  the  photoperiod  from  11hrs  to  8hrs.  Rear  6  T8s  (6500K  x  4nos  &  4000K  x  2nos)  switch  on  at  1400  hrs  and  switch  off  at  2200  hrs.  Front  4  T8s  (6500K  x  2nos  &  8000K  x  2nos)  switch  on  at  1500  hrs  and  switch  off  at  2300  hrs
Co2  starts  bubbling  @  2-3  bps  at  1230  hrs  and  stops  at  2130  hrs

 70%  WC  on  Saturday

 Macro  Dosing:  Sat/Mon/Wed/Fri

Per  dose  dissolved  in  200ml  water  and  added  into  the  tank

 3  tsp  MgSO4  to  achieve  9.16ppm  of  Mg/week
 0.25  tsp  KNO3  &  1  tsp  of  K2SO4  to  achieve  18.48ppm  of  K+/week  &  4.92ppm  of  NO3/week

Have  dissolved  2.5  tsp  of  KH2PO4  in  250ml  water.  1ml  of  this  solution  adds  0.05ppm  phosphate.  I  dose  5ml  of  this  solution  along  with  the  macros  to  achieve  1ppm  of  phosphates/week

Micro  Composition:  As  of  now  am  dosing  2.5ml  of  micros  daily.  Plan  to  reduce  it  to  Sun/Tue/Thu
 1000ml  water
 1  tbsp  Microsol-B
 80gms  K2SO4
 35gms  KNO3
 35gms  MgSO4

I  presume  the  above  dosing  of  Macros  &  Micros  helps  me  achieve  the  following  levels/week

 Mg   9.34ppm
 NO3   5.45ppm
 K+ 19.71ppm

This  is  more  for  my  records....

 04th  Feb,2009
Got  my  3kg  CO2  cylinder  refilled  today.  The  first  one  lasted  me  for  3  months.  Had  given  it  for  refilling  on  31st  Jan.  The  vendor  had  given  me  1  kg  service  cylinder  till  he  got  mine  refilled.
It  seems  retail  filling  of  medical  grade  CO2  has  stopped  in  Mumbai.  BOC  at  Chembur  used  to  do  it  and  now  they  cater  only  to  large  suppliers.  My  vendor  gets  it  refilled  from  a  supplier  at  Rabale  -  NaviMumbai.  I  feel  the  cost  I  paid  for  my  refill  was  a  bit  steep

Mumbai  folks-  Am  keen  to  know  how  much  you  guys  pay/kg  of  CO2.  Awaiting  your  PMs
