There  is  no  specific  procedure  as  such,  just  take  it  out  and  let  it  dry.  You  may  have  to  resink  the  wood  before  using  it  again.

And  boil  it  (get  rid  of  all  the  cobewbs,  and  other  filth  it  may  gather)  before  you  start  pitting  it  in  the  tank  again

I  just  throw  mine  in  a  drum  and  forget  about  it.  This  way  they  are  ready  to  sink  once  they  are  needed  again.  I  have  some  floating  plants  in  the  drum  and  a  few  guppies  to  take  care  of  the  mosquito  larve....

i  would  suggest  that  you  keep  them  immersed  in  a  tub  or  barrel  if  you  can,  with  a  few  guppies  to  prevent  breeding  of  mosquitoes.  Since  your  wood  is  already  immersed  in  water  and  has  sunk,  you  can  easily  keep  is  in  the  sun  and  wrap  it  in  plastic  and  store  it.

To  use  again  you  will  have  to  keep  the  wood  immersed  in  water  much  earlier  that  you  propose  to  use  it.  (  Basically  you  will  again  have  to  give  it  sinking  time!!!  But  it  will  sink  fast  so  no  worries!!!).  YOu  may  give  it  a  wash  in  potassium  permanganate  before  re-use.
