 Dear  All,

Kindly  let  me  know  whether  the  electronic  CO2  unit  will  be  effective  enough  for  a  65  litre  tank.  Or  should  I  go  for  pressurized  co2  tank.  What  is  the  cost  of  such  unit  and  how  ofter  will  I  have  to  remove  the  carbon  block  and  the  cost  of  it  .  PM  if  possible.

 Thanks.
 Deba...

Electronic  CO2  unit  will  be  working  well  with  65  lt  tank.  You  can  also  use  Co2  tab.  for  65  lt  tank.

I  have  not  yet  met  any  long  term  satisfied  user  of  the  tabs  or  electronic  Co2.
I  personally  feel  it  is  best  to  go  for  a  pressurized  Co2  set  up.
It  is  trouble  free  once  it  is  set  properly.

Agree  with  Trevor,  i  have  come  across  quite  a  few  people  who  have  tried  Tabs  and  Electronic  Co2  units,  but  at  the  end  of  the  day  after  going  in  for  a  pressurized  Co2  setup  they  were  very  satisfied.

Its  a  one  time  investment  ...  also  given  better  control  over  the  delivery  of  CO2.

Here  are  a  few  con's  of  the  electronic  Co2  units:
 1.  Price  here  is  almost  same  as  the  pressurized  system.
 2.  The  slab  has  to  be  replaces  approximately  ever  3-4  month.  Your  tank  is  approximately  17  US  gallons  a   5  lb  Co2  tank  will  last  you  approximately  1  year  if  used  properly.  It  is  also  cheaper  to  refill  the  Co2  than  getting  the  Co2  slab.
 3.  You  cannot  control  the  Co2  generated  with  the  slab.  Also  Co2  is  not  effectively  dispersed  in  the  aquarium.
 4.  The  amount  of  Co2  generated  is  inconsistent,
 5.  If  you  have  soft  water  the  unit  won't  work  too  well.

As  Trevor  said  getting  a  pressurized  Co2  will  save  you  a  lot  of  money,  time  and  trouble.

 Thanks
 Bhushan

 Hi  Deba

A  pressurised  CO2  is  any  day  a  better  option.  In  our  markets  the  price  of  Electronic  Vs  Pressurised  in  the  long  term  has  hardly  any  difference  and  pressurised  would  cost  you  lower  in  the  longer  time.  Also  in  the  future  if  you  upgrade  your  tank  to  a  larger  one  or  have  multiple  tanks  your  pressurised  using  can  be  easily  modified  to  support  2  tanks  or  a  larger  tank  would  need  zero  modification.  So  the  benefits  are  plenty.

 Cheers
 nirav

Ditto.  Pressurised  set  up  is  the  most  desired  way.   Thumb Up
