Unni,  I  think  you  have  not  read  the  full  thread  thoroughly.

Now  only  deep  prayers  or  a  Lawyer  can  help  you.   Clapping

Counting  hours  to  receive  the  prize  is  awful  particularly  when  you  have  won  a  bubble  counter.
Maybe  you  should  contact  Rocky.  Thumb Up

 Okey  Guys,
Sorry  for  the  delay.  Winners  are  requested  to  kindly  email  his  address  to  me!

Yes  Unni,  you  must  read  the  thread  fully  and  see  how  this  fellow  had  tried  to  muck  up  the  place  with  his  nasty  politics.  Not  only  in  this  thread  but  in  many  other  threads  already  we  have  seen  his  filthy  attitude  towards  other  Hobbyists.  And  it's  happened  in  front  of  the  Admins  and  Mods.

But  surprisingly  no  action  taken  against  him.
It  was  he  who  created  problems  in  open  forum.  He  attacked  many  senior  members  whoever  tried  to  stop  his  dishonest  activities  in  IAH.  And  as  result  we  have  lost  numbers  of  active  members  who  were  always  here  to  help  others  with  their  knowledge.

The  thread  has  been  locked  by  Ravi  for  a  good  reason  &  he  said  he  will  re-open  the  therad  later.

You  guys  wont  belive  I  have  not  got  any  indication  from  any  moderators  /  admins  when  this  thread  re  opened.

The  whole  problem  started  when  I  had  announced  the  names  of  Judges.
 Deepak  Brid,  Suraj  &  Myself.

This  is  not  the  first  time  I  have  organized  any  photo  competetion.  There  were  no  controversy  related  to  PRIZES,  JUDGES,  MONEY  etc  in  previous  photo  completition.  So  why  it  had  come  up  in  the  very  first  place  this  time?

Do  you  guys  want  to  know  the  reason?
Well,  this  time  it  is  started  because  WE  (3  judges)  had  commented  againts  his  nasty  attitude  and  his  hidden  commercial  interest.

Few  lines  from  Suraj's  end  in  this  thread:

nature_lover  wrote  (View  Post):
Well,  I  am  amused  at  the  following  quote  from  quite  a  few  of  the  hobbyists.
"I  would  like  to  know  whether  the  customers  of  the  Judges  are  eligible  to  participate."
What's  the  problem  with  their  eligibility?  Us  favouring  them??  That  would  mean  I  would  have  to  nominate  at  least  50  members  for  the  first  prize  if  not  more.

If  members  feel  that  I  would  be  partial  in  favouring  or  not  favouring  someone,  I  quit  the  judges  panel  without  much  ado.  I  was  asked  by  Rocky,  if  I  could  be  one  of  the  judges  as  I  am  online  most  of  the  time,  being  a  photographer  and  having  judged  previous  competitions.  I  obliged  his  request.

As  for  rumour  that  the  three  judges  being  commercial  and  hence,  the  price  being  substantially  huge.  Well,  all  I  can  say  this,  that  is  just  it  ...   a  rumour.  Rocky  for  his  part,  has  never  asked  me  to  put  in  any  money  into  this.  I  do  not  even  know  what  he  has  thought  about  for  the  prize.  After  a  few  days  of  bad  blood  being  split,  Rocky  has  taken  the  intitiative  to  bring  back  good  memories  and  healthy  discussions.

Now,  if  people  are  waiting  to  hear  about  the  prize  and  then  participate  ...
then   Crying or Very sad   there  is  no  more  spirit  left.   Sad

Quote:

It  was  he  who  created  the  problem  and  started  to  comment  in  RED  LETTERS  in  abusing  language  to  other  members  in  open  forum  which  Ravi  himself  deleted  the  comments  and  said  sorry  for  these!

From  a  long  time,  I  am  just  reading,  reading  &  reading...  but  this  time  it  is  a  heights  of  frustration  and  I  am  totally  unable  to  control  my  anger  and  forced  to  reply  strongly  to  bring  out  the  truth  whether  it  will  hurt  any  one  or  not.

I  am  writting  these  all  because  still,  our  respected  Admins  /  Moderators  are  silent  in  this  regard.

 --

 To,
 Admins,  Moderetors  and  Members,
I  will  entrust  the  judgments  on  your  able  hands,  show  some  justice!

 Kind  regards,
 Rocky

No  Madan,  I  dont  think  we  will  have  anything  of  that  sort.  This  has  every  indication  of  degenerating  into  yet  another  flamewar.  I  am  not  too  sure  that  its  an  issue  with  this  thread  alone  either.

I  am  fairly  new  to  the  forum  and  the  hobby.  But  I  have  read  through  a  large  number  old  threads.  The  the  degree  of  harshness  being  exhibited  in  the  language  and  attitude  seems  to  be  a  fairly  recent  trend.  I  really  hope  that  all  parties  involved  will  exhibit  more  restraint.

More  importantly  I  hope  that  the  senior  persons  involved  with  the  forum  will  sit  and  look  into  problems  if  any,  and  take  steps  to  sort  them  out.

There  is  a  proverb  in  Malayalam  which  says  that  "There  can  be  no  smoke  without  a  fire  somewhere".  And  there  seems  to  be  a  lot  of  smoke  floating  around

I  have  been  a  little  longer  than  you  on  this  forum,  Unni,  and  I  used  to  post  a  little  on  various  boards  which  I  stopped  because  of  the  attitudes  of  some  members.  I  just  could  not  digest  the  way  they  commented.  I  am  sad  to  say,  Unni,  what  you  see  here  in  not  a  recent  trend,  but  like  you  I  would  like  to  see  such  attitudes  die.

I  do  not  see  why  nasty  attacks  are  being  made  on  Rocky..  The  competition  he  organized  was  good  and  the  fun  was  to  participate  into  it.  Why  will  he  be  pressurized  for  awesome,  expensive  prizes?  The  forum  or  any  other  member  has  not  contributed  in  the  prize  so  why  they  question  Rocky's  honesty?  Whatever  prize  he  is  giving,  even  if  a  bubble  counter,  its  from  his  pocket  and  i  think  its  very  nice  of  him  to  organize  such  a  nice  competition.  Since  when  IAH  competitions  were  judged  with  the  prizes?

And  nasty  comments  like  that  coming  from  a  staffs  really  looks  awful.  Trevor  should  have  encouraged  the  competition  rather  than  discouraging  members  from  the  beginning.  And  even  at  the  end  we  are  seeing  the  same  behaviour  from  him..  And  Yogesh  why  dont  u  organize  a  contest  and  announce  a  ADA  full  setup  as  a  prize  if  you  think  that  the  bubble  counter  was  too  bad  to  have  as  a  prize?

we  are  loosing  the  friendly  environment  we  once  had  in  IAH.  Admins  please  do  something..  we  need  serious  revamping...

Dear  Shankar,  what  you  are  sying  is  to  bury  our  heads  in  the  sand  and  think  no  one  can  see  us.

I  for  one,  is  sick  and  tired  of  these  brawls  and  now  seldom  participate  in  discussions.  My  visits  also  have  reduced  due  to  other  factors,  as  well.  It  is  unwanted  that  a  value  adding  and  popoular  site  like  IAH  will  have  so  much  of  angst  in  its  pages.

We  should  do  some  strict  controls  on  submission  matter.  Parties  starting  up  stupid  or  controversial  threads  should  me  gently  reminded.  Parties,  replying  in  a  unwarranted  manner  should  be  dealt  in  the  same  way.  If  some  one  is  repeating  the  offence  after  3  gentle  warnings,  he  or  she  should  be  banned  for  some  time.  If  he/she  is  repentant  then  they  can  be  repermitted  to  IAH.  On  further  offence,  his/her  membership  should  be  permanently  terminated.

Lastly  all  I  want  to  request  all  and  sundry  is  that  this  is  a  HOBBY  forum  and  does  not  need  all  this  ferociousness,  spats  etc  etc.

 Just  my  two  cents.
