You  could  keep  Rosy  barbs.  Once  in  a  pond  with  algae  to  eat,  they  will  color  up  very  well.  Same  goes  for  denisonii  as  well.  Try  to  keep  some  Valisneria  and  Elodea  in  pots.

Just  a  little  two  cents  -  its  Denisonii  like  in  Puntius  denisonii.
Danysony  sounds  like  a  chinese  walkman.  Very Happy

That  was  a  good  one,  Pradeep.

Please  change  the  spelling,  Abhi.  You  can  keep  a  host  of  barbs  without  any  issue.  Platy  fry  although  will  not  survive.

 Thanks  for  the  clarification,  Pradeep.

Abhis,  As  far  as  I  known  the  Puntius  Denisonii  likes  fast  and  flowing  waters.

That  is  what  we  found  when  we  went  on  a  hunt  for  them  in  their  native  waters/habitat.

Its  best  you  use  a  powerful  pond  filter  with  a  good  output.

 All  the  best.

IMX  Denisonii  barbs  mix  well  with  most  other  Puntius  and  Danios  --  they  like  cool,  highly-oxygenated  fast-flowing  waters  (hint:  a  rooftop  pond  or  an  outdoor  pond  (especially  a  shallow  one  at  that)  that  gets  direct  mid/afternoon  sun  is  not  the  best  place  to  house  them).

My  personal  favorites  for  mixing  with  shoals  of  Denisonii  are  a  shoal  of  Melon  barbs  --  they  are  from  more-or-less  the  same  biotope,  they  have  body  markings  going  in  opposite  directions  that  contrast  each  other  very  well  and  create  a  spectacular  display.  However,  both  of  these  fish  are  wasted  on  a  pond  though  because  they  look  at  their  best  from  the  sides  not  from  the  top  and  look  rater  lacklustre  from  the  top.

The  two  things  most  incompatible  with  Denisnoii  are  1)  aggressive  and/or  predatory  fish  and  2)  stubborn  and  inexperienced  fishkeeper.  For  1)  I  would  recommend  not  getting  such  fish  and  for  2)  I  could  offer  my  prayers  :-)

 Pradeep:  Thanks  for  the  laugh

I  keep  mine  with  lots  of  other  Puntius,  Barilius  and  Loaches.  As  others  have  said,  they  do  best  in  cool,  fast  flowing  waters.

 Dear  all,

Thanks  for  your  valuable  suggestion.   And  at  the  same  time  I  am  sorry  for  mis-spell  -  Danisoni.

Mr.  Trevor,  I  don't  have  any  idea  about  powerful  pond  filter.  Can  u  suggest  something  !!

 Thx  a  lot
