If it has to be done 'naturally', solution would be giving them the best environment, water parameters and good food.
Anything like the above solution might work, but wont be 'natural' |

What you feed plays a very important role. Discus Bio gold from hikari also enhances colours.

Dear Vaibhab
Astaxanthin is natural red colour pigment found in adult salmon fish, krill and in red marigold ? french marigold. Don't worry it 's also commercially available in the market.
To feed it either you can soaked it in palleted food or can mix it with BH .

Asta is also a powerful antioxidant. Good to be fed for breeding stock, irrespective of their color too.
And yeah, it helps color up the reds very well.
Chinese consume asta as a food supplement!
You can read up here:

Vaibhav,
To bring out red color in any fish, carotine-rich food becomes essential. I used Natural Astaxanthin Powder by Jehmco in my BHM couple of years back, the result was pretty good. Hikari has also launched special Red Colour food for discus, you can also give it a try. |

Let me try this ,
How the red colour in the Discus developes ?
In fishes there are certain pigment cells which are responsible for bringing colours in fishes . These pigment cells are called Chromotophores ( Xanthophores & Melanophores )
Xanthophores : These cells are responsible for the red & yellow colours in discus . any discus which has more of these cells will have more red or yellow colour in them .
Melanophores : These pigment cells are responsible for black & blue colour in discus .
When discus grows , at one stage there colour glows naturally . When you feed food rich in carotine there colour gets enhance . Prawans , carrot are reach in carotine hence good for discus . Many people want to see their young discus in full colour at their earlier age . How do people enhance these colours in discus .
There are many colour enhancer available in the market , eg Asthaxanthin , Chlorophyll Red , Chlorophyll Yellow , Testosterone , CR6 .........etc .
To enhance the red colour Astaxanthin is best . Astaxanthin is a form of algae similar to spirulina . It need to mix @ 3 gm per 1 kg of BHM . It is an antioxidant which is rich in fibre and protein .
Thanks |

In discus feed you can add Spinach , Carrot , Green peas , etc , you need to cook it slightly and mi it to BH , don't over cook . any veg when over cook will lose its nutritional valve . Spinach 50- 75 gms for 1 kg , carrot 1 medium size for 1 kg . Spirulina is also best .
Krill is also good ( I think in marathi it is called sode ) . you have to train you discus to eat varieties of feed . |
