 Madan
The  name  "Guilin"  got  me  searching,  it  is  place  in  china,  sems  to  be  a  beautiful  place.
The  first  picture  shows  rocks  exactly  like  what  you  have.
The  landscape  looks  beautifull  if  it  can  be  expressed  in  terms  of  planted  landscape.

Thanks  Sandeep.  I've  never  been  to  Guilin  in  China.

But  the  first  pic  in  the  link  looks  similar  to  the  Pitons  I  mentioned  earlier  no?

This  Guilin  place  does  look  cool,
Seeing  the  first  picture  it  has  got  me  thinking  is  there  a  plant  that  will  grow  on  the  stones  to  make  it   look  like  the  picture?

 Yes  Madan,  they  look  alike.
They  both  seem  to  results  of  volcanic  eruptions,  and  result  of  erosion  of  rock  over  a  period.
However  in  both  these  landscapes,  there  are  similarities.
Low  plants,  peaks  are  just  covered  with  grass.
You  can  use  these  as  basis  of  your  creation.
Peaks  covered  with  moss,  low  plants  just  covering  the  base  of  rocks.
 Dark  substrate.
However  the  cementing  of  base  of  these  rocks  is  brillant,  there  is  no  danger  of  tall  vertical  rocks  falling.  How  is  it  holding  togather??
Gives  me  a  lot  of  ideas  for  my  african  landsacpe,  got  a  lot  of  limestone  rocks.
Madan  you  should  start  another  thread,  about  these  rocks.
 DIY'ing  it  would  be  intersting.

Sandeep,  I  would  love  to  start  another  thread  about  these  rocks,  but  some  moron  might  just  come  out  here  with  nothing  better  to  do,  and  say  I'm  promoting  ADA.  Chuckle

ADA  have  their  own  forum,  ask  for  explanations  there  !

 AHA
So  I  got  the  Guru's  thinking.  Chuckle

One  aquascape  in  either  this  yearor  pervious  years  ADA  comp.  had  plants  like  these  growing  on  the  rocks.
Can't  seem  to  find  the  picture.

 Riccardia  graeffei
 http://www.tropica.com/catalog/images/productcard/varenr003D_large.jpg

Right  now  Madan  you  Adip  and  me  have  this  plant  and  you  could  try  it  on  the  rocks

Will  second  Mayur......  I  have  started  growing  this  on  rock  recently.  And  it's  really  good  looking.

But  if  you  are  planning  for  a  large  quantity,  and  if  you  don't  have  them  already  growing  in  your  tank,  then  it  might  burn  the  pocket  badly.

Well  IMHO  i  dont  think  it  will  look  very  nice  to  have  the  plants  on  the  peaks  of  rock.....as  it  would  be  covering  the  character  of  the  rock  and  am  sure  Madan  would  agree  with  me.

Need  to  show  off  the  rock  in  the  Aquascape  thats  the  best!

 Hey  tirtha,

 Cool

There  are  i  think  2  types  of  Riccardia  Sp  available  if  i  am  not  wrong,  Can  you  tell  me  which  Sp  you  have  and  where  you  sourced  it  from.

I  have  a  Japanese  variant  so  do  add  pictures  of  your  plant  so  we  could  compare  notes.

If  i  remember  correctly  our  own  Rasika  Nayak   an  others  had  collected  this  plant  on  a  recce,  the  plant  did  not  grow.

Oops  I  know  your  lap  top  is  not  working,  but  no  worries  buddy  i  will  remind  you  for  the  pics  and  keep  a  list  of  the  pics  you  have  to  post
 1.  Bolbitis
 2.  Riccardia  Sp

Mayur.....  I  have  a  solid  memory.....  so  you  don't  have  to  keep  reminding  me  everyday  in  every  thread  that  you  want  to  see  the  pictures.  And  I  am  really  not  sure  why  you  are  in  so  hurry  to  see  my  bolbitis  picture.  I  will  post  them  as  I  said  you  earlier.

And  yes  ...  I  have  the  Japanese  variant  too.  I  sourced  it  from  Karin.  As  of  now  I  have  3  types  of  Pelia,

 Riccardia  graeffei  (Coral  Pelia/Mini  Pelia)
 Lomariopsis  lineata  (Round  Pelia)
 Monosolenium  tenerum  (Pelia)

 Hey  Tirtha,

"A  photo  speaks  a  thousand  words"  and  more  over  I  am  very  curious  when  it  comes  to  bolbitis  and  how  it  grows,  so  i  am  very  keen  to  learn  and  see  how  it  grows  in  Delhi  conditions.

And  again  it  will  be  a  great  help  for  people  to  start  growing  Difficult  plants  better.

No  hard  feelings  if  you  do  not  want  to  post  pictures.  But  if  you  do  post  it  will  be  great  to  see.

also  thanks  for  adding  two  more  plants  to  the  list  of  pictures  i  want  to  see  from  you.  Thumb Up
