what is wrong with this angel?
symptoms
1. lack of appetite. havent seen it eat anything for a couple of weeks now. at least not in my presense and the food lies undisturbed at the bottom. when i got it it use to eat vey easily.
2. stunted growth. the other angel in the pair has grown considerably but not this one.
3. no problems in swimming.
4. redness near the mouth and where the fins join the body. doesnt show any apparent discomfort.
5. white droppings.
treatment:
been treatimg it with metrogyl 400 for internal parasite. but wtill it hasn't eaten anything. keeping the fish in a seperate tank as of now.

Stingy white faeces is a sure shot symptom of intestinal parasites. Metro will not work the way it is intended if you don't dose it atleast for 3 days with a temp above 32. You have to make waterchanges and re-dose it again.
Clamped fin/fin rot could be due to bacterial infection, which is very likely to affect the last fish in the pecking order.

I think with below two scenerio you can able to understand better ,
Case no 1 :Young angels stoped eating for few days , discharging white poo , not active .
1) Put heater and maintain the water temp above 31 deg .Use good heater and ensure that it cuts off timely .
2) Since your angel is not eating , feeding Metro in BH is of no use , so what will you do . so dose Metro in water @ 1 gm for 100 ltrs . you can dose up to 1.4 gm per 100 ltrs .
How to do this ? first dissolve the metro in luke warm water and pour it in to the tank .
3) After two days start Metro in feed , they may start eating .
How to do this ? Take 100 gm of BHM , make it soft and spread them thin on the plastic sheet like Roti . Make powder of Metro , put few drops of hot water to make it paste form and dissolve it fully. apply this Metro paste on Bh which you have spread on plastic sheet . mix it well , put it in plastic zip bag like thin sheet and put it in freezer . once it is hard you can feed your angels as much as it consumes within 30 minutes . minimum 2 feedings per day .
Once your angels starts eating Metro feed , you can discontinue metro in water .You need to carry on this treatment for 8 to 12 days , best for 12 days .
Case No 2 : You angel is eating well , but still you want to De-Flagellate them . Just follow Metro in Fed method as stated above .
Dosage for breeding pairs should be mild , but for young you can give as mentioned above @1 gm for 100 gm BHM , 3 times per day for 8 to 12 days .

one more imp thing do WC daily atleast 50-75% , one a day after feeding , and dont use heater since the temp in indian summer is very hot , use it only if its rainy or winter season

I faced the same problem to my discus, one of my discus was not taking food and simply taking rest on a corner of the tank and its shits were in white color, so I applied metrogyl but it doesn’t cure the diseases
My friend gave this medicine “Myxazin”drops,its available in 60ml,120ml , it’s a product of Waterlife,
It is for fin rot, ulcers, sores and other bacterial infections.
I applied Myxazin to my discus tank and with the temperature 30, now he got recuperated and taking food properly and playing with his friend normally.
Try myxazin to your angels
One more important thing is before applying the myxazin you pls change the water 80%, while changing water clean the sides of the tank, bottom of the tank and filter, dosage are written on the bottle ,the treatment is for 5 days during these days dont change the water and apply the medicine on every 24hours for 5 days and dont feed them till the treatmet over.temperature should adjusted to 30, no problem about the summer that if the heater is an automatic one it can adjust.

Vaibhav it seems you had copy paste the above treatment from below thread which is actually for Discus(reply20.03.09) . You had only replace Discus with Angel . Not good for hobby .

For internal infections, generally what cures discus can be applied to angels as well.
Someone with lot of patience taking efforts to draft proper advice to guide the newbies backed by his years of experience and it just took few seconds for someone else to Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V the information and be proclaimed expert advisor.

sorry guys for my mistake , i thaught he will get confused by reading DISCUS thats why i copy and replace DISCUS by ANGLE i did that for his benefit, seriously ,,,,,,, next time i'll see to it that i'll not make such a mistake

Different fishes of different sizes with different Tank water chemistry have different tolerance level for treatment. So what ever Med or dosage someone recommends for one particular fish may not be correct to other fishes.
So one should be very careful while advising any treatment. Just copying and advising without practical knowledge is dangerious .
