Go  for  DIY  drip  filtration.  I  did  it  for  myself.  Very  economical  and  since  it  is  DIY,  you  choose  the  material  so  no  issue  of  spares  Smile

If  you  are  looking  for  long-term  investment,  no  other  choice  than  Eheim.  It  will  cost  you  more  than  other  brands  but  really  worth  going  for.

 Hi,

Eheim  is  you  best  bet  and  value  for  money.  All  spares  are  easily  available,  Eheim  cleaning  and  maintenance  is  pretty  user  friendly.  Havent  really  used  boyu  to  know.  Till  date  have  rarely  seen  any  dissatisfied  eheim  customer.
Boyu  is  eventually  chinese  and  has  the  only  price  advantage.

 Warm  Regards

 hi

I  have  a  bOYU  EF10  and  an  Eheim  as  well  and  I  can  confirm  that  the  flow  rates  on  the  Boyu  seem  to  be  a  lot  less  than  claimed  and  My  3  ft  tank  needs  another  internal  filter  apart  from  the  Boyu  to  eliminate  dead  spots.
Further  the  Boyu  does  not  have  the  "double  tap  attachment"  which  make  it  quite  a  pain  during  Canister  cleaning
I  don't  have  the  UV  sterilizer,  but  it  sure  sounds  like  a  good  thing  to  have.

 Regards

 Bijay

Why  we  need  an  UV  at  the  first  place  for  a  fresh  water  setup????  Instead  of  trying  out  a  less  known  brand,  I  will  suggest  you  to  go  for  the  Brands  like  Eheim/Fluval/Aquael.  When  you  are  going  for  a  canister,  spend  on  good  thing.
