No  Administrator  needs  a  certificate  from  you  for  anything,  and  your  thoughts  in  this  regard  carry  no  value  to  anyone,  including  a  newbie.

Discussion  or  not  this  policy  on  IAH  is  not  going  to  change.

 admins

is  it  possible  to  continue  this  hobby  properly  without  knowing  the  availability  and  quality  of  accessories???  we  are  hobbyist,  it  is  important  for  us  to  know  about  the  stores  where  we  may  plan  to  buy  staffs.  nothing  is  100%  perfect  in  this  world  so  its  not  impossible  to  have  some  drawbacks  of  a  particular  store..  if  only  discussion  about  sweet  words  are  allowed  about  the  store  then  how  can  one  understand  the  drawbacks??

if  personal  mailing  is  the  best  option  then  can  u  leave  the  site  with  only  mail  ID  and  specialization  in  the  hobby  of  members...and  no  other  input/  discussion  from  any  hobbyist....i  think  NO...neither  the  site  will  be  resourceful  nor  heplfull

so  what  is  the  point  of  saying  this  words  "and  mail  both  parties  for  clarification  if  he  so  deems  necessary."

We  do  not  encourage  positive  feedback  but  we  encourage  trying  to  sort  out  these  transaction  issues  with  the  dealer  as  much  as  possible.
Yes!  You  have  the  right  to  express  problems  with  a  dealer  but  IAH  is  not  the  forum  to  express  it.  I  hope  that  answers  your  question.

...  and  I  really  don't  appreciate  the  condescending  manner  in  which  you  are  trying  to  teach  me  about  forums.

 toomanyfish:
If  the  simple  question  is  "Can  we  discuss  sour  deals  on  IAH?".  The  simple  answer  is  NO.

 neel12345:
Won't  it  be  nice  to  understand  the  forum  policy  from  the  admin  himself  before  you  post  in  the  forum  based  on  your  assumptions?

Leave  it  guys..  I  now  think  that  they  are  perhaps  paid  for  locking  threads  that  discus  the  negative  points  of  Indiapetstore.com

What  else  ?  Lock  this  thread  too.  Carry  on  boasting  your  power...

 Souvik,

You  primary  question  is  why  is  a  positive  review  not  locked  when  a  negative  one  is..  the  answer  to  that  lies  in  normal  human  tendency  to  magnify  what  we  perceive  as  something  wrong  done  to  us  without  even  trying  to  understand  the  other  person's  version.  And  this  happens  at  slightest  provocation,  usually  clouded  by  emotion  and  in  that  situation  the  person  will  not  be  in  a  space  to  look  for  resolution.

When  it  comes  to  a  positive  review,  it  is  rarely  that  we  get  down  to  writing  it  unless  the  other  person  has  far  exceeded  our  expectations.

What  we  should  be  able  to  consider  is  at  least  a  list  of  LFS  and  what  all  do  they  stock  including  the  kind  of  fish.  That  will  help  in  1.  identifying  the  LFS  location  and  2.  know  what  to  expect  when  you  are  there.

If  all  you  readers  like  the  suggestion,  I  invite  you  to  send  in  information  about  the  LFS  you  know  for  the  benefit  of  new  hobbyists  and  the  information  could  be  added  to  LFS  list  on  the  site.

 The  key  information  should  be:
 Name  of  the  shop
 Address
 Location/Landmark
 Phone  No.
 Aquarium  Livestock  available
 Aquarium  Plants  available
Kind  of  accessories  and  decorations  available
 Service  support  available  or  not
 Stocks/manufactures  imported/Indian  tanks

And  then  you  can  add  and  contribute  more  to  this  list  so  that  we  can  be  adequately  informed  and  have  access  to  resources  required  for  the  hobby.

 Cheers!

Very  harsh  statement  indeed  &  owe  an  apology.

Don't  quite  understand  why  such  people  agree  to  abide  to  Terms  &  Conditions  while  registering  to  IAH.  You  do  not  have  any  rights  to  question  Forum  Rules  after  you  have  accepted  indianaquariumhobbyist.com  -  Terms  of  Service.

this  words  states  the  monopoly  mentality  of  some  admins...neither  care  for  the  hobby  nor  hobbyists...not  s  single  satisfactory  answer  from  the  mods....i   r  not  able  to  answer  my  question  because  u  can't....can  u  run  this  site  without  any  hobbyists  input/discussion??   its  a  challenge!!  because  mods  din't  made  the  site  resourceful,  hobbyists  made  it.....so  can  u  mods  run  the  website  with  only  rules  and  regulation  and  no  place  for  discussion???

well  just  a  few  cents.  i  m  hanging  around  here  from  a  year  now.recently  their  is  lots  of  lfs  posting  on  this  site  because  of  that  i  think  several  people  has  started  taking  iah  as  a  commercial  site   and  we  all  very  well  know  that's  not  the  case  so  i  was  thinking  this  before  can  we  ban  lfs  announcement  as  we  all  are  agree  that  the  primary  aim  of  iah  is  to  promote  hobby  not  to  promote  any  commercial  entity???

Oh  Neel!  You  miss  the  point  again.
You  seem  to  be  assuming  that  we  will  lock  threads  once  you  tell  us.

Read  through  my  old  archived  posts  in  the  forums  for  your  answer.

You'll  find  it  some  where  if  you  have  ever  used  this  site  constructively.

Did  I  talk  about  emotional  attachment  to  any  perceived  wrong  done  to  us  or  an  expectation  not  met??

The  entire  discussion  is  a  perfect  example  of  that!

And  can  we  reach  a  conclusion  to  the  matter  in  this  state?  Probable  not.

And  because  of  this  attitude,  the  posts  have  to  be  restricted/moderated.  How  about  discussing  to  what  extent  can  we  discuss  LFS  to  the  benefit  of  hobbyists  and  in  which  format  such  that  it  helps  hobbyists  as  well  as  LFS  and  helps  minimize  expectation  mismatch  between  the  two..

kapil  I  am  not  addressing  you,  if  that  is  the  indication  you  got.

As  for  your  LFS  list  that  is  a  separate  discussion.
