 Bhushan,

Thanks  Prem.  I  have  placed  stones  covered  with  java  moss  under  the  wood.  It  is  doing  alright  under  the  wood  with  low  light.

Thanks  Bhushan!  My  question  was  regarding  the  light  penetration  for  the  stem  plants  on  the  left.  I  am  just  curious  to  know  how  to  avoid  it  due  to  the  bhushy  growth  of  the  stem  plants.

Prem  ,  the  stems  are  mostly  behind  the  wood  which  is  just  about  1-1.25"  thick.  R.rotundifolia  which  is  there  is  doing  alright.  Exactly  under  the  wood   Staurogyne  sp.  'Porto  Velho'  is  planted.  This  plant  has  a  tendency  to  crawl  towards  light.  So  I  used  this  ability  of  the  plant  here.  If  you  see  closely  you  can  see  the  S.  sp  'Porto  Velho'  peeping  out  behind  the  rock.

 Bhushan,

Your  tank  looks  so  beautiful,  it  seems  so  silly  to  point  it  out.  Truly  inspiring.  Could  you  please  tell  us  which  plant  is  which.

 Cheers

Bhushan  you  are  using  65W  for  10G,  with  a  fabulous  output  and  a  zero  algae  tank.
This  means  the  smaller  the  tank  more  the  WPG.
There  is  no  thumb  rule  for  WPG,  it  decreases  with  size.

This  is  so  true!  I  have  personally  experienced  it  as  well.  The  smaller  the  tank  the  more  light  you  need.  The  link  below  should  also  help

Venkatavijayan  ,  Thanks  for  the  kind  words.  The  tank  is  20"L  x10"W  X12"H  .  The  temperature  is  generally  maintained  between  72-78°F.  As  of  now  I  just  have   2  set  ups  that  are  scaped  and  a  couple  of  other  holding  tanks.

Vince,  Thanks  for  the  compliments.  I  will  try  to  point  out  the  plants  if  you  would  ask  me  specifically.  But  there  are  quite  a  few  plants  which  are  still  not  showing  their  full  potential  and  hence  are  not  completely  visible.

Dev,  I  am  still  not  sure  if  this  is  a  competition  worthy  tank.  My  wife  doesn't  like  it  that  much.   Sad  I  guess  she  has  seen  too  many  of  Amano's  tanks  in  the  AquaJournals  I  get.  Yes,  it’s  a  2213  on  a  10G  and  I  have  not  even  turned  down  the  flow  valves.  Believe  me  you  will  need  that  much  flow  when  the  plant  mass  in  you  scape  increases.  Nope  no  lily  pipes  yet  on  this  one.  Have  been  thinking  for  a  while  but  have  just  been  putting  it  off.

Dev,  people  who  visit  my  place  ask  me  where  can  they  buy  this  kit?  Surprised   I  don't  think  you  need  to  steal  it.  Just  come  on  over  and  I  will  let  you  take  the  "Kit".

The  WPG  is  a  really  old  concept  with  no  scientific  background.  If  you  look  at  my  old  set  up  "  Boraras  Dreams"  I  had  a  28  W  CF  over  it.  I  was  very  much  limited  with  the  choice  of  plants  with  that  much  light.

To  reiterate  Prem's  question,  how  do  you  ensure  that  the  bottom  of  the  stems  dont  rot  beacause  of  lack  of  light?

Also  could  you  please  elaborate  on  the  settings  that  you  used  on  your  camera  for  this  picture
