Thanks  Seetharam.   As  the  stems  grow  dense  they  definitely  lose  the  leaves  on  the  lower  part  of  the  stem.  But  the  mid  ground  plants  and  hardscape  is  place  in  such  a  way  that  it  hides  the  unsightly  part.  Some  plants  like  HM  and  R.  sp.  “Nanjenshan”  have  a  tendency  to  curve  down  they  can  be  used  to  hide  their  own  lower  parts.  Since  the  top  of  the  stem  is  receiving  enough  light  the  plant  still  photosynthesizes  and  stays  alive  and  the  stem  also  stays  alive  without  rotting  as  it’s  rooted  in  the  substrate  and  obtains  nutrition  from  there.  If  you  go  out  and  see  stem  plants  in  their  natural  habitat  they  do  the  same  thing  there.

 Thanks  Bhushan

Could  you  give  more  details  on  the  settings  of  the  various  parameters  like  ISO,  Aperture,  Light  Setting  (Tungsten,  Daylight  etc)  and  any  other  settings  that  yo  uadjusted  to  take  this  picture.

I  feel  you  have  captured  the  natural  beauty  of  this  tank  flawlessly  and  that  is  something  which  i  have  not  been  able  to  do  very  well.  Your  inputs  could  help  me  capture  better  pictures  of  my  tanks.

Seetharam,   I  will  try  to  get  the  exif  info  on  the  pics.  These  were  shot  with  a  Nikon  D90  and  50mm  f/1.8  D.  For  the  earlier  pics  used  a  Sigma  10-20  mm.  As  far  as  I  remember  for  the  front  shot  the  aperture  was  relatively  small  to  get  a  better  DOF.  Added  an  extra  65w  CF  over  the  tank  for  taking  the  front  shot.

Thanks  Ravi.  Glad  that  my  post  helped.

Shubhankar,  Avik  and  Aninda  ,  thanks  for   appreciating   it.
