 Hi  Friends  !

Hope  all  is  well  and  that  everybody  is  having  a  great  start  to  the  Week  !

Friends,  I  want  to  buy  Astaxanthin  for  a  DIY  Cichlid  Recipe  that  I  plan  to  make  for  my  Yellow  Labs  and  the  Fronts.  Just  wanted  to  request  you  to  kindly  guide  me  if  its  available  anywhere  here  in  India  and  kindly  guide  me  on  the  Shop  contact  details.

Also  I  guess  Astaxanthin  is  just  a  form  of  Xanthopylls  (  a  Pigment  to  enhance  Yellow  Coloration  of  the  Fish  )  and  I  know  that  Xanthophylls  are  used  and  are  available  from  many  Ayurvedic  Shops  -  so  is  there  a  chance  that  we  could  get  Astaxanthin  from  there  aswell  ?

 Kindly  advice.
Have  a  Wonderful  and  Happy  Week  ahead  !!!
Regards  and  Care  to  all  !
 Kush

Asta  is  more  of  a  red  enhancer  than  other  colours.   Artemia  does  bring  out  good  blue  pigmentation.   That  can  be  used  for  Fronts.   Any  good  quality  pellet  with  blanched  palak  could  keep  your  labs  in  their  prime.

 Hi  Madhu  !

Thanks  a  lot  for  the  kind  reply  and  for  guiding  me.  Can  I  feed  Newly  Hatched  Brine  Shirmps  to  my  Fronts  ?  I  find  that  they're  too  small  for  my  fronts  and  they  dont  notice  them  swimming  past  their  mouths...  So  will  freeze  dried  adults  would  do  ?

Also,  any  ideas  if  Tetra  Bits  has  Astaxanthin  or  what  color  enhancers  are  used  in  it  ?

Kindly  advice...  Thanks  again  for  caring  !
 Have  a  wonderful  day  !
 Regards
 Kush

Wow  thats  expensive  !!!  I  guess  then  it  would  be  better  to  stick  to  the  Spirulina  Capsules  commonly  available  ?  Anyways,  kindly  let  me  know  the  source  -  Thanks  for  caring  Smile

The  100gms  would  last  for  more  then  a  year  or  two.Because  very  small  quantity  is  needed  to  be  added  in  the  food  mix.

 Kush

IMO  it  will  be  non-profit  investment  if  you  do  not  have  any  red  colour  fish.
Would  recommend  to  stick  with  Spirulina  +  quality  dry  food  for  your  cichlids.

A  few  years  back,  I  had  some  red  passions  and  Nitin  gave  me  a  sample  of  NatuRose.   It  brought  out  real  good  red  on  the  passions.   But  precisely,  I  wouldn't  use  direct  Asta  unless  and  until  i  groom  discus  to  compete  in  Aquarama.   Very Happy
I'm  not  quite  sure  of  Freeze  dried  stuff,  but  frozen  artemia  are  excellent  food  for  Fronts.

Because  if  carrots  start  making  your  discus  red,  noone  would  be  interested  in  searching  for  Astaxanthin.  Jester

Astaxanthin  are  very  good  for  discus  if  you  find  it  expensive  then  you  can  try  tetra  bits  or  jbj  nova  bits  which  is  another  alternative..
