 Hi  ,

Welcome  to  IAH,Please  give  your  introduction  in  this  Thread.

You  have  a  large  tank  but  Koi's  are  best  suitable  for  ponds  not  for  indoor  aquarium  as  they  grow  big. And  Discus  are  Parrots  are  incompatible.

 Hi,

You  really  have  huge  tanks  perfectly  suitable  for  arowana,  stingrays,  oscars  or  other  big  fishes.  Smile

If  you  want  to  rear  fishes  you  mentioned,  keep  discus  separated  by  any  other  fish.
IMO  instead  of  Koi  &  Parrot,  why  not  give  a  try  to  Oscar  community  or  other  large  cichlid  tank.

My  guess  is  the  tanks  are  6'  Length  x  3'  Height  x  1.5'  Breadth.

Let's  see  when  he  replies.  If  I  am  right,  not  good  for  stingrays  or  even  arowanas.

Yes,  you  are  right  provided  your  assumption  is  right.
How  many  hobbyists  we  have  here  with  3'  height  tanks?

I  am  delighted  and  nice  to  see  so  many  responses.
Please  see  the  Introduction  page-41  about  myself.
Thank  you  for  all  your  suggessions.
Recently  I  made  two  tanks  not  glass,  but  of  thick  plastic  sheets  with  wooden  suppoting  frame,  two  numbers  size  6'x3'x1.5'  height  with  the  idea  of  rearing  fishes.  It  is  placed  on  the  terrce  of  my  house  in  a  shade  net  covering.
A  fellow  who  promised  to  supply  frys  absconded.
Now  I  will  go  t  alone  and  see  that  my  mission  succeeds.
 I  welcome  ideas  and  suggessions.

 Hi  Bijay
It  is  made  out  of  thich  plastic  sheet  placed  in  side  a  wooden  case  made  od  planks.
Oncethe  water  is  filled  it  id  self  supporting  and  pond  like.
only  thing  is  the  plastic  sheet  should  be  of  good  quality  and  doble  layered  and  should  not  have  any  damages.

My  DIY  tank  is  3Ft  high.
For  fish  fry  go  to  alibaba.com  and  do  a  search.

The  guys  who  show  up  there  are  the  guys  who  supply  everybody.
Let  me  warn  you  the  prices  are  not  cheap  nor  is  the  shipping.

I  dont  know  how  it  will  go  because  plastic  emits  chemicals.

First  you  have  to  set  your  water  up.
Id  hate  for  you  to  fill  your  tank  and  then  add  discus.  Chances  of  survival  are  slim  to  none.
Seed  the  tank  with  some  cheap  common  fish.
It  will  take  at  least  3-4  weeks  to  set.
