a  river  tank  is  trying  to  imitate  to  some  extent  a  river  torrent  with  an  extreme  flow  of  water  and  oxygen  content  of  the  water  Garothmaan.
in  Marks  tank  he  has  either  two  or  three  powerheads  working  with  the  ventura  fitted  to  one  or  two  of  them.
if  you  fancy  copying  a  river  system  manifold  you  can  go  to  Loaches  online  and  there's  a  diagram  of  the  manifold,  i'm  to  lazy  to  do  that  though.
i  just  have  a  massive  powerhead  to  give  maximum  flow  to  the  tank  with  a  ventura  on  it.

Hey  Percy,  humour,  even  to  the  level  of  nonsense,  can  be  good  but  if  you  have  the  gift  of  timing.  No  offense  dude.  Do  not  kindly  ridicule  the  serious  efforts  of  a  fellow  hobbyist  and  also  request  you  to  kindly  refrain  from  posting  such  juvenile  questions,  man.  Grow  up  baby.

Hope  you  will  not  hold  my  suggestion  in  your  heart  but  will  keep  it  in  your  mind.   Chuckle

"Its  not  how  it  looks  its  how  you  see"....

Believe  me,  I  have  realy  posted  this  question  with  die  hard  curiosity..  there  is  no  ridicule,  no  mockery,  nor  any  humour..  its  just  plain  question,  Because  I  realy  liked  the  concept  and  I  want  the  hobbyist  to  express  its  beauty  and  therefore  this  question...

Again  I  say...  I  AM  NOT  ridiculing  his  efforts  infact  I  am  realy  appreciating  it..

I  know  why  you  have  said  those  words,  because  you  are  not  able  to  differentiate  between  MY  wittiness  and  my  appreciation...  but  I  wont  blame  you.

Chuckle  Since  I  have  been  85%  humourous  ,  some  people  may  be   having  this  mind  set  and  may  think  that  my  stupid  questions  are  also  mockery,  but  right  now  its  not...  Smile

Fine  then  Percy,  may  be  I  had  that  perception  in  my  subconscious.  But  since  this  is  a  serious  question  from  your  end,  so  I  guess  I  will  try  to  answer  it.  I  no  not  think  it  will  make  any  sound  like  a  flowing  river  dude.   As  I  believe  that  the  sound  comes  when  water  leaps/falls  on  water,  with  stones  rolling  etc.  But  then  Mad  Duff  will  be  the  one  who  will  be  able  to  give  you  the  exact  answer.

If  I  have  hurt  you,  then  I  am  sincerely  sorry  for  that  mate.  I  lough  at  your  jokes  most  of  the  times  Thumb Up

No  offence  Dost......  I  will  always  love  all  my  fellow  hobbyist  on  IAH.....  god  bless...  I'll  tell  you  why  I  asked  this  question.

I  have  a  2ft  tank  just  next  to  my  bed.  I  have  no  hood  on  it.  its  having  2  sponge  filters  and  I  have  put  the  boyu  airpump  to  medium  (twin  pipe).  At  night,  the  sound  of  water,  seems  so  peaceful,  that  sometimes  I  actually  close  my  eyes  and  imagine,  as  if  I  am  sleeping  near  a  river  bank  and  water  is  flowing....

thats  wht  that  question  bro  Cheer Up

I  read  somewhere  keeping  a  tank  in  your  bedrooms  brings  bad  luck.  Guys,  is  this  true?

Guys,  please  keep  to  the  topic.

Garothmaan  -  Here  is  the  link  for  River  Tank  manifold  design  -  http://www.loaches.com/articles/river-tank-manifold-design
In  my  opinion,  its  the  closest  to  recreate  a  river  kind  of  environment  in  a  tank.

Fantastic  design.....  so  in  real  terms  it  will  throw  the  water  and  will  create  currents/torrents  only.  But  in  the  picture  herein  there  are  bubbles  also...am  right?  so  there  is  also  a  pipe  attached  somewhere  which  passes  air  and  therefore,  in  the  current  tank,  maybe  he  has  intalled  the  pumps  on  a  higher  level..

 Wow  what  and  Idea  Sirjee

You  do  gets  some  sound  from  the  venturi's  on  the  powerheads,  I  also  have  a  smaller  internal  powerhead  at  the  opposite  end  of  the  tank  that  runs  a  spray  bar  so  there  is  a  nice  trickling  sound  from  that.
