 Hi  Friends,

Just  wanted  to  request  for  some  ideas  /  guidance  /  help  for  a  feeding  station  like  thing  for  the  bottom  feeders.  I  want  to  design  /  make  Some  container  kind  of  thing  that  can  be  easily  removed  and  added  everyday  to  the  tank,  which  can  contain  food  like  frozen  worms,  sinking  pellets  etc  for  bottom  feeders,  so  that  the  food  is  available  for  them  without  sinking  in  to  the  gravel...

Will  be  a  great  help  if  someone  can  kindly  guide  me  with  ideas...
 Thanks  a  lot  !
 Regards  and  Care
 Kush

Let  me  jump  start  the  flow  of  ideas  with  a  very  very  simple  one...Just  place  a  PVC  pipe  that  gets  to  just  out  of  the  water  level  by  about  an  inch  and  reaches  to  just  above  the  substrate.  Now  drop  the  food  into  the  tube.  Will  reach  the  bottom.

You  can  affix  something  like  a  tray  to  the  bottom  so  that  the  food  lands  on  the  tray  and  not  on  the  gravel  and  when  you  lift  out  the  contraption  you  will  also  be  removing  the  uneaten  food.

How  about  a  plain-simple  petri  dish  or  ash  tray  which  is  transparent?  (no  color)

Just  thinking  aloud  -  not  sure  if  the  remaining  food  will  spill/float  over  when  we  remove  it  from  the  tank.

I  drop  food  haphazardly  in  the  tank  so  that  they  can  graze  and  figure  out   Very Happy  .  Feeding  stations  will  be  a  good  idea  though.

I  think  the  main  problem  of  this  post  is  not  understood.

If  we  have  gravel  and  we  give  sinking  pellets  ..  they  generally  get  stuck  in  the  recesses  between  the  medium  size  gravels.  I  have  personally  seen  my  sucker  going  bonkers  trying  to  suck  the  pellets  without  much  success.

@  Kush  -  hope  I  understood  your  problem  statement.

 Hi  Amit,

Yes  exactly,  that  is  the  problem.

Actually  I  have  bought  a  few  Calabaricus  (Rope  Fish)  and  they  are  very  very  dumb  when  it  comes  to  feeding,  They  only  feed  on  Ive  and  meaty  foods,  but  they  take  a  loong  long  time  to  detect  the  food  and  get  to  it.  Any  food  that  sinks  to  the  bottom  will  not  be  touched  by  them,  hence  i  thought  that  a  feeding  station  would  be  the  best  option  to  make  them  get  to  the  food  easily...

I'm  working  on  a  design  and  will  update  you  friends  as  soon  as  its  done...  meanwhile  it  will  be  great  if  you  all  can  give  me  more  ideas...

Thanks  for  all  the  replies  and  guidance,  friends...
 Lots  of  care  to  all,
 Kush
