 Folks,

The  cam  is  back  from  the  service  center.   Thumb Up
There  you  go,  our  puntius  from  Pondicherry.  The  male  on  the  left  has  a  dark  brown  color  on  its  fins.  Here,  he  is  a  bit  stressed  in  the  photo-tank.  Bugger  was  into  some  spawning  game  when  I  disturbed.

 Puntius  Conchonius?

 Regards
 Prasoon

Looks  so  much  Like  Puntius  terio.  Does  it  have  transparent  gill  plates?

I  remember  the  caudal  being  extremely  orange  when  we  caught  it.  Is  it  still  retaining  the  colour????

 Beta  :

The  Terio  is  supposed  to  have  a  very  pointed  dorsal  right???  This  one  did  have  that.

 Beta,
Yes,  would  do  this  weekend.  These  guys  are  in  my  old  Canarensis  tank  set  up  and  the  water  color  is  dark  brown.  Let  me  move  them  to  a  new  tank  and  then  try  to  take  up  some  pics  from  the  same  tank.

 Balaji,
Two  of  the  males  had  nicely  colored  up  with  orange  fins  and  black  border.

 Ashwin,
'Puntius  prasoonius'  -  I  would  love  to  dedicate  that  to  our  Old  Mohan  for  all  his  songs.  How  about  Puntius  Mohansis??  What  say  -  Balaji?

 Abishek,
 How  is  your  fishes  doing?

 Regards
 Prasoon

Il  have  my  revenge  someday.  Looking  out  for  songs  that  are  even  more  banal  and  bawdy  at  the  moment.

Puntius  Mohanensis????  It  actually  makes  sense  considering  we  found  those  Puntius  in  a  gutter.
