I recently bought an internal sponge filter. I was surprised to see that one of the compartments had carbon inside it while the other three had the usual sponge material.
I have heard of carbon being used in external filters, but i didn't know that they are used in internal filters also. Is it effective when used in internal filters or do i need to take it off and replace it with sponge?
