 A  friend  told  me.
adding  salt  and  malachite  green  is  good  apart  from  Metrodizole.
 so  I  did  it.
Just  to  make  sure  every  thing  works  fine  in  the  tank.
If  moving  is  a  good  sign  then  i  am  sure  he  will  recover  soon.
i  am  very  happy  after  hearing  this.

 bunty...

First  of  all,  you  are  making  him  more  sick..

 1.  Stop  malachite  green  -  when  your  friend  had  asked  you  to  give  this  medicine  did  you  asked,  what  this  medicine  is  supposed  to  do?  Malachite  green  is  a  highly  toxic  chemical,  slight  mistake  in  dosage  would  be  lethal  to  your  FH.  Added  to  which  this  is  mainly  for  external  parasite  and  fungus,  for  which  there  are  other  medicines  apart  from  Malachite  Green...

 2.  When  you  say,  you  are  adding  salt?  What  salt  are  you  adding?  Is  it  Epsom?  If  it  is  not  epsom  salt,  then  this  salt  has  no  role  in  internal  parasite/hexamita  infection..

 3.  Why  have  you  increased  the  dosage  of  Metro  -  Metro  dosage  should  be  reduced  progressively  as  the  treatment  continues....  And  why  did  you  added  Ciprofloxacin??

He  his  not  been  eating  since  so  many  days,  added  to  his  Malachite  Green,  Cipro,  Increased  Metro  is  making  him  more  and  more  sick...

 Stop  all  medicines  now...

 1.  Increase  heavy  aeration  in  the  tank..
 2.  Treat  him  with  epsom  salt  (MgSo4.7H2O),  daily  50%  WC.....Keep  the  water  as  clean  as  possible...
 3.  With  so  much  of  medicines,  your  Bacterial  bed  is  already  gone,  so  take  out  all  your  existing  filter  medium...
 4.  Apart  from  50%  WC,  siphon  out  all  muck  on  a  frequent  basis
 5.  Keep  the  temp  steady  at  30  degrees

Just  because  your  FH  is  not  eating,  does  not  mean  the  medicines  are  not  working....  Patience  and  do  not  stress  the  FH  too  much...
I  am  getting  an  uncanny  feeling,  that  you  have  approached  almost  a  point  of  no  return...

One  more  point  -  Did  you  find  out  the  cause  of  this  disease?  Internal  Hexamita  is  for  two  reasons,  1.  Bad  Environment,  2.  Infected  food

Since  he  is  not  eating,  so  I  guess  the  infected  food  is  now  stopped,  What  about  the  environment?

I  wish  him  a  very  speedy  recovery...

 Regards
 Subhankar

I  am  adding  normal  non  iodized  salt.  Couldn't  find  epsom  salt  in  delhi.

I  posted  regarding  my  problem  on  Flowerhorncraze.com  .  from  there  a  expert  told  me  that  add  ciprofloxin.
i  was  so  into  my  ill  Fh  that  i  just  did  what  he  told  .to.
i  am  doing  this  Cipro+metro  treatment  for  the  past  4  days.

Well  he  was  on  only  shrimps,  doing  ok  at  my  friends  place. My  friend  got  job.
so  he  was  not  able  to  change  the  water  of  the  tank  for  almost  a  month
my  ill  FH  and  his  8  inch  FH  was  sharing  the  same  2.5foot  tank.
both  Fh  were  pooping  white,  but  his  8  inch  FH  recovered  the  disease  as  he  changed  the  water.
 what  i  feel  that
at  that  time  i  took  my  Fh  and  drive  to  home  it  was  like  1  hr  journey.and  he  was  in  a  totaly  new  tank.
may  be  the  stress  and  exertion  make  him  more  susceptible  to  this  disease.
I  am  in  really  mental  stress.
I  am  going  to  change  the  water  50%.
please  reply  guys  i  really  need  your  help.
