Planning  a  short  collection  trip  on  the  said  date.  Kindly  suggest  some  good  places  nearby  Mumbai,  if  you  know  any.

 My  options  below:
 1.  Ulhas  River,  Badlapur  (where  we  had  great  last  time)
 2.  Kalundre  River,  Panvel
 3.  Tungareshwar,  Vasai  -  http://www.mouthshut.com/review/Tungareshwar_Wildlife_Sanctuary-105361-1.html
 4.  Upvan  Lake,  Thane  -  http://www.indianceleb.com/infopedia/tourism/thane-lakes-in-thane-%E2%80%93-mumbai-lakes

Not  expecting  alarming  water  level  due  to  subdued  monsoon  this  year.
Kindly  confirm  your  availability  in  this  thread,  good  chance  to  meet  fellow  hobbyists  &  have  fun-filled  trip.

PS:  Cricket  lovers  can  relax  as  India  Vs  Pak  Champions  Trophy  match  at  Centurion  will  not  begin  before  17:00IST.  Wink

Streams  at  Tungareshwar  dry  up  pretty  soon.  Also,  now  since  it's  a  wildlife  sanctuary,  collection  /  exploration  may  require  permits.

There  is  nothing  at  upvan.  I  have  been  there  lately.  I  am  in  for  anything  as  long  a  GAROTHMAAN  is  coming.

We  need  to  check  with  Tungareshwar  Sanctuary  officials  about  exploration  formalities  required,  if  any.
Heard  the  place  is  having  good  amount  of  driftwood.

How  about  Arey  guys?  But  I  am  unaware  about  if  it  qualifies  as  protected  area.  There  is  nice  stream  parallel  to  the  road  15-20  mins  ahead  of  the  Arey  garden  towards  the  road  to  Powai  which  is  5-6  inches  deep.  Im  sure  the  locals  there  can  help  us  out  with  some  other  remote  spots  inside  the  area.  But  the  main  things  is  to  confirm  if  it  doesn't  qualifies  to  be  a  protected  area.

Inside  aarey,  there  is  a  guy  who  breeds  Tilapia  in  cement  tanks  and  a  pond.  Right  next  to  it  is  a  small  pond,  about  100  feet  across.  I  cannot  remember  the  exact  location  because  I  went  there  in  2006  and  was  totally  lost.  It  is  somewhere  along  the  main  entrance  road,  I  think  to  the  right.  You  will  see  a  gate  with  a  couple  of  smal  houses  next  to  it.

Its  happening  for  sure,  just  hold  for  couple  more  days.
If  Tungareshwar  doesn't  click,  we  may  go  for  Badlapur  ATLM.
