can  anyone  tell  me  where  to  get  tubiflex  worms  in  bangalore,  i  guess  its  not  available  anywhere  in  karnataka.

In  fact  if  anyone  interested  we  can  team  up  and  get  it  from  hyderabad  or  chennai,  since  i  know  its  available  there.

i  know  about  stories  of  diseases  spreading  because  of  these  worms  but  i  have  not  experienced  any  of  it  till  date,  i  believe  if  you  wash  the  worms  very  well  ,  specially  with  potasssium  permanganate  and  then  feed  them  to  your  fishes  ,  they  are  perfectly  all  right  and  the  fishes  love  the  live  food,  and  i  have  seen  fishes  grow  very  fast  after  eating  live  food.  The  fishes  relish  it  ,  its  something  they  get  in  the  natural  environment,of  course  they  dont  get  dry  food, pellets  ,flakes  in  the  natural  environment  ,  right?

So  if  there  is  anyone  out  there  who  would  like  to  feed  live  food  to  your  fishes  then  pls  do  get  in  touch  with  me  .

 Regards
 Asif

That  is  quite  a  sweeping  statement  you  have  made.

I  suggest  you  update  your  profile  and  location  and  post  an  intro  in  the  new  members  forum.

Try  "Gulmarg"  near  Sanjay  Gandhi  Hospital,  Jayanagar.

 Regards,
 Nayak.

P.S.  All  the  nalas  and  drains  in  Bangalore  are  packed  with  Tubifex.  Have  a  peep  in.

Breeders  in  Bangalore  use  local  live  food.  Depends  ultimately  on  your  PR  with  the  LFS  owner.  Some  things  are  not  for  everybody.

Have  more  interaction  with  members  from  Bangalore  and  see  how  they  source  their  live  food.

Asif,  If  you  believe  that  there  are  really  no  live  tubifex  worms  in  Bangalore  then  it  is  a  good  idea  to  import  them.

A  word  of  caution.  I  use  to  get  blood  worms  from  Chennai  by  bus  every  Sunday  and  share  them  with  several  fellow  hobbyists.

The  problem  started  in  summer  when  they  often  started  arriving  in  a  decomposed  condition.  Even  though  i  promptly  flushed  them  down  the  toilet.  The  stench  was  always  unbearable.  Slowly  the  tenants  of  the  neighborhood  buildings  started  vacating  the  place  and  the  real  estate  price  of  the  area  dipped  drastically.

My  maid  ran  away  for  good  with  a  strange  look  on  her  face.

I  hence  had  to  refuse  all  offers  of  blood  worms  from  hobbyist  friends  in  Chennai  even  though  it  was  for  free.

All  the  best  on  your  new  venture.

Thanks  trevor  for  sharing  your  experience  and  encouraging  me  for  my  new  venture  ,  i  know  its  a  smelly  business  ,  but  i  will  endure  it  just  for  my  fishes  ,  as  long  as  i  am  able  to  feed  them  good  healty  ones,  i  am  happy  because  i  know  about  the  dangers  to  tubiflex  too.

Pls  suggest  any  other  fish  food  which  will  be  like  Biryani  for  the  fishes.

 Regards
 Asif

 How  about  Biryani  itself!  Wink
Jokes  apart,  if  your  preference  is  live  food,  you  can  feed  freshly  hatched  brine  shrimps.  Thumb Up

 Hi  Trevor!

Nice  way  of  dropping  Real  Estate  prices.  Will  use  the  same  technique  when  I  buy  a  new  property.  ROFL  Did  you  get  a  new  maid,  nice  way  of  replacing  the  old  maid  with  a  new  one  Thumb Up  .  All  these  nice  fishy  techniques  you  have,  surely  nice  words  of  encouragement.
