HOw  hot  does  your  house  get?  IS  the  fish  tank  is  in  an  a/c  room?  Set  the  fans  blow  over  the  top  of  the  water.  You'll  have  lot  of  evoperation,  but  it  keeps  the  water  cool.  I  top  off  about  10  liters  of  water  per  day.

Great  Tank,  Did  not  think  it  is  possible  to  have  a  reef  in  chennai  without  a  chiller.  I  presume  your  fish  tank  is  not  in  an  ac  room.
Is  your  main  pump  and  skimmer  external  and  how  much  flow  is  there  in  your  tank.  I  can  see  only  one  pump  below  the  inlet  pipes.

Nice  tank  you  have  ..  Excellent  Zoas  ...
I  had  couple  of  Green  Zoas  but  was  not  able  to  maintain  them  ....  Someone  should  start  a  thread  on  how  to  maintain  corals  and  Zoas.  How  to  feed  them  ...  Perhaps  it  would  nice  if  you  mention  what  to  feed  and  how  to  feed.

I  fed  them  frozen  shrimps..  Not  sure  if  thats  the  right  food.

Zoas  are  some  of  the  easiest  corals  to  keep.  They  require  very  minimal  care  and  do  not  require  feeding.  They  also  dont  like  too  much  light.  I  have  most  of  my  zoas  in  the  bottom  of  my  tank  so  and  they  fill  in  those  areas  where  you  can't  grow  your  SPS.  If  your  zoas  are  melting  away  meas  there  must  be  some  water  quality  issue.  Its  not  that  you  are  not  feeding  them.  R  u  feeding  them  too  much  and  reducing  the  water  quality?  Also  what  is  your  water  parameters  such  as  ammonia,  nitrite  and  nitrate.  In  a  reef  tank  your  ammonia  and  nitrite  should  be  0.  Nitrate  should  be  0  as  well,  but  your  zoas  will  be  alright  if  your  nitrate  is  little  high.  Also  how  often  do  you  do  your  water  change?

Hey  really  great  collection..............I  can  imagine  the  kind  of  money  you  have  already  put  inn!!!!

Most  of  the  inverts  are  imported  and  each  looks  like  2500K/  3000K  and  above....
But  the  best  part  is  they  all  seem  to  be  aquaculture...  Clapping

Just  a  small  suggestion:  more  intense  lighting  will  really  help  get  the  colors  out  as  u  have  most  of  'wish  list  corals'......specially  those  red/orange  and  pink  shaded  corals  come  from  really  deep  waters,  greens  and  browns  prefer  more  white  light!  also  intense  lights(16  to  20K)  will  boost  amazing  Coraline  variety!

The  mh  are  12000k  and  I  have  2  actinicts  to  give  that  blue  colour.  I  would  like  to  go  with  higher  spectrum  for  the  colour  but  it  would  reduce  the  growth  rate  of  the  corals.

 Some  of  my  SPS

yes,  when  they  name  the  corals  they  get  higher  price  and  people  pay  for  it  too.  I  bought  a  one  polyp  of  zoa  for  almost  2000  rs.  Its  called  darth  maul.  The  good  thing  is  I  have  about  50  polyps  in  my  tank.

 Hi  Gremlin,

neat  Tank.  I  have  started  one  reef  recently  and  trying  to  keep  it  in  a  good  condition.  So  far  so  good.  I  have  collected  some  coral  locally,  as  available.  I  shall  post  some  pics  later.  Keep  the  good  work  up.

 Rgds.
