Unni,  is  this  a  rosette  plant?  Like  a  crypt.  I  don't  know  how  I  missed  this  one.

Probably  missed  it  amidst  all  the  nonsense  that  I  put  in  here   Chuckle

These  plants  virtually  came  out  from  nowhere.  Grew  on  a  rocks  on  which  I  had  no  other  plants  attached.  The  rocks  themselves  were  picked  off  from  my  yard,  so  they  are  unlikely  to  have  any  Aquatic  plants  attached.

Four  of  the  plants  grew  attached  to  the  rocks  {Three  on  one  rock  and  one  on  another}.  Initially  I  thought  that  they  were  Marselia  {I  have  posted  a  picture  earlier  in  this  thread},  tried  to  replant  one  of  them  into  the  sand  +  laterite  substrate.  It  melted  off.  The  remaining  three  are  growing  well,  but  slowly.

They  appear  to  be  Rosette  plants.  The  roots  have  a  branching  pattern

I  will  try  to  post  a  better  picture  of  the  plant  today  once  the  lights  come  on  in  the  afternoon.

the  new  leaves  come  out  in  a  spirally  wound  fashion  like  new  fern  leaves,  you  can  see  one  in  the  second  picture.  The  leaves  have  become  much  larger  as  newer  ones  emerge.

I  am  attaching  a  few  more  pictures  here

the  plant  looks  mysterious  and  the  way  it  was  born  is  really  cool
anyways  till  now  i  thought  that  only  my  aquarium  rocks  are  full  of  this  BBA.  have  you  still  not  thought  of  anyway  to  tame  this??  trust  me  i  have  shifted  to  pressurized  CO2  and  yet  this  algae  is  not  dying.  someone  told  me(in  my  DIY  CO2  days)  that  it  is  due  to  low  CO2  and  water  circulation.  ironically  now  it  is  growing  in  full  bloom  on  the  rocks  near  to  the  CO2  ceramic  diffuser  and  with  a  very  good  water  flow.
i  think  lights  are  the  culprit  here.  i  will  try  adding  1wpg  more  to  existing  setup  with  the  same  CO2(2bps)  for  a  18  gallon  tank  and  will  update(not  here  but  somewhere  else)  Chuckle

Ooooh  that  was  BBA  ?  I  thought  that  they  were  another  set  of  mystery  plants.
Probably  a  new  moss  species  that  would  be  called  Vesicularia  unnii

oops....the  BBA  is  the  algae  i  am  talking  about.  sorry  my  last  post  was  confusing  Smile
i  mean  the  algae  growing  on  the  rocks.....i  think  it  is  called  Black  beard  algae  or  some  thing  like  that...

i  have  no  clue  what  the  plant  name  is...bhushan  and  other  experts  are  our  only  hope.

I  first  thought  it  could  be  Cryptocoryne  lingua  or  Rorippa  aquatica.  But  as  it  just  popped  up  from  some  collected  stones  there  is  a  good  possiblity  that  it  is  some  kind  of  fern.  The  curled  up  new  leaf  also  points  to  that  plus  the  melting  of  plant  when  burried  in  the  substrate.  Keep  posting  pictures  I  will  ask  a  few  friends  around.

This  looks  like  Rotala  rotundifolia,  but  the  leaves  are  a  bit  narrower  and  have  very  good  red  color.  Looks  like  a  submerged  growth

This  second  plant  is  an  obviously  emersed  growth

Picked  up  from  the  plant  tub  at  Blossoms   Chuckle
There  is  a  huge  bunch  still  lying  there.  I  took  15  stems  each  from  bunches  with  50.  You  want  me  to  pick  some  up  for  you?  I  can  bring  it  down  when  I  come  to  Trivandrum
