Kiransak,  your  fish  are  nice  too.  Infact,  I  really  like  your  picture  output.  Very  clear  and  sharp,  almost  professional.  Which  camera  did  you  use?

 regards...

 Thanks  for  the  compliments,  friends.
 Tank  size  is  36x18x18  (50G).
Got  them  at  a  size  of  2-2.5"  from  nearby  LFS  couple  of  months  back.  Gave  them  strong  Metro  booster  and  they  started  eating  like  pigs  afterwards.  Supported  with  massive  4-5  daily  WC  &  BHM,  these  guys  are  currently  sizing  around  4.5-5".

Could  be  as  I  got  this  batch  from  LFS.

Blue  Turqs  have  always  been  my  favourite  strain  since  I  started  with  discus.
Its  really  fun  to  watch  them  go  after  live  Bloodworms  and  finishing  them  off  in  no  time.

As  these  guys  were  used  to  eat  Tubifex  worms  at  LFS,  they  plainly  refused  to  accept  BHM  or  Tetrabits  during  first  week  of  their  arrival.  Also,  they  were  found  to  be  really  skittish  resting  in  the  corner  of  tank.  If  you  suspect  any  parasital  infection  due  to  regular  live  feeding,  stunted  growth,  regular  white  poop  etc;  you  can  start  Metro  treatment  for  de-flagellating.

I  followed  this  method  for  my  Metro  Booster  3  days  course.
 1)  Heater  set  at  33  degrees
 2)  Massive  Water  changes  every  4  hours  4  times  a  day
 3)  Dissolving  powder  of  10  tablets  Metrogyl  (250mg)  in  lukewarm  water  &  pouring  this  solution  to  the  tank  (30G)  with  every  water  change
 4)  Cleaning  all  sides  of  tank  with  every  water  change.
 5)  No  feeding  during  this  period
 6)  On  4th  day  morning,  add  some  Epsom  Salt  to  their  tank  and  you  are  done.

They  started  eating  BHM  the  very  next  day  and  surprised  me  as  well  with  their  rapid  growth  (I  do  min.3  daily  WC  to  discus  tanks  anyways).
Regular  de-worming/de-flagellating  method  with  mild  dosage  (1gm/100Liter)  has  been  discussed  many  a  times  on  the  forum.  You  can  check  it  out  in  case  you  are  interested.

 Nice  Discus  Yogesh...
I  have  a  small  question.  With  all  these  heavy  WCs  we  do,arent  we  making  our  fish  more  weaker  in  terms  of  their  immune  system?  I  can  understand  daily  90%  WCs.  But  arent  4  WCs  in  a  day  way  too  much?

I  follow  old-school  hatchery  rule  for  WCs  where  grow-up  tanks  undergo  several  WCs  due  to  multiple  feedings,  also  BHM  which  pollute  water  quickly.
Discus  poop  a  lot  during  WC,  thus  make  them  hungry  for  the  next  round  of  feeding.  My  discus  start  begging  for  food  even  when  water  getting  refilled  up.  Smile
Result  can  be  seen  with  quick  growth.

However,  this  de-flagellating/de-worming  is  not  mandatory  if  you  are  not  feeding  live  worms.  Some  follow  it  periodically  to  ensure  their  discus  are  keeping  in  good  health.  So  this  3  days  of  extra-efforts  and  you  may/can  succeed  in  debugging  your  discus  from  future  problems.
Maybe  their  internal  system  is  built  to  fiddle  with  such  water  changes,  one  point  to  note  the  water  parameters  supplied  by  local  municipal  body  are  ideal  for  rearing  these  beauties.  I  posted  about  80%  WC  to  my  RTG  tank  in  some  forum  and  many  people  raised  eyebrows  there,  looks  like  dragon  has  adjusted  himself  to  Mumbai  water  as  well.  Chuckle

 Hi  Sandy,
This  is  metro  booster  dose,  not  the  normal  metro-treatment  we  ususally  use.  Thats  why  the  dose  is  so  high.  But  Yogi  is  expert  here,  he  can  explain  better.
 Thanks,

 Hi  Sandy,

I  always  use  strong  dose  for  de-flagellating  as  follow  4  hour  WC  break.
However,  you  can  use  mild  dosage  if  you  are  following  8  hour  WC  schedule.
Key  is  to  maintain  water  temperature  constantly  above  30+  Celsius,  so  use  heater  for  to-be-added  new  water  as  Metro  works  best  with  increased  temperature.

Metrogyl  is  an  anti-biotic  and  should  not  used  unnecessary.
If  your  discus  are  eating  other  food  (animal  heart),  you  can  go  for  'Starve  &  Feed'  method.
Just  2-3  days  of  starving  with  higher  temperature  (31-32  degrees)  should  help  you  get  them  on  pellets.
Later,  you  can  schedule  this  pellet  as  their  first  feed  in  the  morning  as  they  are  comparatively  more  hungry  that  time  due  to  night-time  break.
