 Hi,

went  to  hampi  over  Christmas  and  saw  the  largest  Channa  gachuas  I  have  encountered  so  far.  One  was  surprise  on  top  of  one  of  the  temple  hills  inside  a  clear  water  pond,  just  took  some  piuctures  of  this  guy,  much  to  the  surprise  of  all  passerbys.  The  other  large  guy  I  caught  in  a  very  small  pond  next  to  a  rice  field  near  the  river.  That  was  my  lucky  day,  I  guess,  caught  around  15  species  of  fish  totally,  including  the  gachua  giant  (which  I  released  after  photgraphing,  since  I  have  no  more  space  at  home),  a  young  marulius  and  a  you  punctata.  I  also  found  a  lot  of  small  barbs  that  are  among  the  most  beautiful  striped  fish  i  have  ever  encountered.  their  behaviour  is  very  similar  to  chiclids,  always  hiding  in  gaps  of  stones  when  danger  approaches.  Willing  to  give  away  a  few  of  these.
My  camera  does  not  manage  to  take  sharp  picture  of  fishes  in  my  aquariums,  but  if  you  want  to  have  a  look  at  them,  fell  free  to  contact  me.
Ah,  and  then  there  was  my  first  Garra  and  other  nice  fish,  Baby  Etroplus  and  others  :-)

 Hi,

it  took  me  quite  some  time,  but  I  have  managed  to  get  some  lousy  pictures  of  the  striped  barbs  from  Hampi.

Right  now  I  have  about  30  of  them  housed  in  a  two  footer  with  rocks  and  plants.  They  are  doing  very  well  and  growing  very  fast.  I  noticed  that  they  have  a  somewhat  chiclid-like  behaviour,  hiding  under  rocks  as  soon  as  something  scares  them.  Any  idea,  what  fish  they  might  be?  I  would  also  like  to  meet  with  other  hobbyists,  I  am  located  in  Coxtown,  so  if  someone  wants  to  see  my  fishes  or  meet,  please  let  me  know.

Regards  and  thanks  for  the  id  help  in  advance

@Abhis9:  Actually,  I  have  no  clue.  Searching  the  web  for  past  two  weeks  and  wasn't  even  able  to  find  something  similar.
