Hi,
After one failed attempt, my salamander male spawned with a purple female yesterday. At first I didn't think they hap spawned as he didn't chase her any more and she too was not hiding as hard, but just minding her business away from him. then I saw a piece of the nest loaded with eggs! Sadly and shockingly the piece had detached itself from the main nest n had flown to an area just above the almond leaf. the water level above the leaf was hardly half an inch, so it was inaccessible to the male. Thought about it a lot and tried to cut the leaf to remove it, but it was impossible, but in the try, got another idea, to move the piece slowly. did it as slow as possible, and when he saw the eggs coming, started taking them to the main body of the nest! Big relief!
But in the morning, the nest again looks scattered, so doubtful about the future. Lets see what happens, 'll keep the thread updated.
