D. pulcher STs are endangered species and now banned from ornamental fish trading.
However you can get its 3-4 bar cousins microlepis (ITs) & Silvers (ATs) rarely in Mumbai.
You can check with Shahzad of Piceas, Had bought couple fork-bar ITs from him long back which were killed by my HBRTG. |

Can you give me address or directions to "Aquakingdom" in Mulund?
I will also check with Pisces (Crawford), but that is a very long trip for me. (I wonder if he'll help me over the phone.)
Are these exclusively imported or are they bred there in India?

Sid |

Guess they are imported from the stock bred in east asian countries, very cheaply available in that part of the world.
Very slow growers though, it'd be good if you keep them in a bunch of 5-6 as there will always be aggression amongst them.
Bullied ones will go unstable for weeks/months, later you can keep the most active/stable ones & discard the rest.
More importantly, you will need to find a size which will not fit your Arowana's mouth (though Silvers are mild than others). |

Hi Clive,
You can check its availability with Piceas at Crawford Mkt. as said earlier.
Last year spotted them at Pooja Aquarium in Borivali also. |

Got a couple of American Tigers from a source in Hyderabad and had them shipped over to Kerala.
STs are rare and almost impossible to find. But they remain the ultimate that! |
